Its beginning of a new semster and I want to be serious early. I want to study right after school at the end of the day. But most times I feel so tired and sleepy.
When I force myself to read till 1.00am, I feel sleepier the next day.How can I get rid of this sleep and be able to use my time well ?

I m facing what you r facing right now. Wake up, drink some coffee. That should keep you awake at least till the early afternoon. You must have some exercise in your daily routine to keep yourself fresh and awake. Do not use up all your energy to do it though. Probably about 15 mins of running, just to sweat it out. I m sure you will feel great after that. If that still dont work, grab a powernap of about 30 mins. After that wash up, do some stretching. You will be more than ready to face the books.

One thing might be to make lunch a rather light energy filled meal instead of a sandwich and a side. Just make it something like a fruit salad and water or energy drink like Gatorade. Afternoon is siesta time or something similar in most cultures since the food eaten for lunch is drawing all the blood away from the brain for digestion and spreading the nutrients to the body. So, don't give your body too much to digest and make it something that will give a bit of a boost. Just eat a bigger breakfast and/or dinner to compensate and keep caloric intake at healthy levels. Worse comes to worst, if you're a coffee drinker, don't have a morning cup, have one at about 11am or noon. It will take about an hour to kick in and wake you up. But I know not everyone thinks caffeine is healthy, so go for a straight up energy drink like Red Bull [Yuck!! oh sorry trying to help here...] instead.

1 AM is much too late for you. You should start your homework when you get home from school and then take a break and eat dinner. Go back to work and stop no later than 10PM. You will get sick if you do not get enough sleep. If your teacher is assigning too much work, you need to talk to him or her or have your father call.
