Goldenhairgirl, you have posted three questions in the past hour about your increasing swelling. You MUST get this checked out in the morning. The last person who posted a series of messages that sounded amazingly like yours ended up in the hospital with a surgical drain placed in her neck (It will leave a scar.), because she was asking people on Yahoo! what to do about it instead of taking care of it properly.

Do NOT try to beat the system and "fix" it with your own antibiotics that you have left over from some previous infection. They are probably outdated anyway. I personally will not answer any more questions about your condition unless you see a dentist in person. I do not want to be a part of delaying your necessary treatment.

FOR TONIGHT ONLY, may I suggest:

In addition to using the pain medication of your choice, sleep on an extra pillow to elevate your head. Sleep on the side that does NOT have a toothache. If that doesn't work, you can move to a recliner or the sofa so you can keep your head really elevated. This will minimize the blood flow to the area and therefore minimize the throbbing and pain. This might help you make it through the night until you can see a dentist.

I had this problem about 2 years ago I had to go to the emergency room because i was in soo much pain thank god i did because the doctor informer me that if the swelling was caused by a infection from an absceced tooth and if the swellin got any worse or the infection got into my eye i could have lost my eyesight permanetly

You need to be taking an anti-inflammatory like ibuprophen, but before taking any medication, check with your doctor first.
