I was speaking to a friend of mine and she told me about her experience in church camp. She said there was a sort of evangelist type thing going on everyday. You know, where they smack people's heads and they fall over, because oh Lordy, God is in them! The evangelist would speak in tounges, wagging his hand over my friend's head, and smacked. "Ow, that hurt." Nothing. Then the guy hissed at her, "Fall over!" She did, just to get him off her back and was told to lie there by the person who caught her.

Okay...what the hell? I never believed that this was real at all to begin with, but I didn't know that the evangelist actually hisses orders to the "saved" to make it more believable. So it's all monkey see, monkey do? Who would actually fall for this???

unfortunately this does happen. There are churches that for whatever reason, make people feel guilty, prey on new believers' making them feel less spiritual and as if there is something wrong with them if they don't exhibit obvious "manifestations of the Holy Spirit"
Not all churches are like this- those that fall for it do so for the same reason that many fall prey to cults- they feel intimidated, need to feel a part of something and are just not educated in the word so are easily led and swayed by these things- they are told that if they fake it enough, it will come naturally eventually- they just have to let it happen. I ran from a church like this - but it is unbelievable how often this happens and sadly too many are driven completely away from the faith by this abuse of the pulpit.

Woa!!! There is something seriously wrong about all this. If I were her, I would get as far away from that religion as possible.

If it was real, then there wouldn't be a need for doctors or hospitals.
