This is a wonderful question and one that has been tackled with over the centuries. The answer is in balance.
If you simply look at creation there is a grand balance. Things evolve, organisms feed off of each other, there is life and death. If you look at God and the Devil, one would see good and bad. Creative forces and Destructive forces. God is good.
This two sided coin is interesting because the Creative force is older than the Destructive force. You see, there was nothing and then there was something. God then created Lucifer. Only a Creative force could create a Destructive force, and interestingly this Creative force created the Destructive force to be under his control.
The devil answers to God in the end. Its all a question of balance but in the Christian belief the balance is tilted toward the good. Our God is not capable of evil, but he does control the balance.
p.s. Also, keep in mind that our definition of evil comes from what God told us not to do.

Watching children being raped and tourtured... I know personally that if I could do anything to stop the suffering of just 1 child I would do everything I can, and here we have this "being" that is the all mighty and he does what? God Made man in his image.. Man kind is the most evil living thing around..... Got your answer yet?

The Christian God supposedly created Lucifer, knowing full well as he did so that he was creating an angel that would become the Prince of Evil. He could have created ANY angel as his chief angel, but he created one that he KNEW ahead of time would fall and rule over hell.
I would qualify that as an act of evil. In fact, it was the act that CREATED evil, and did so deliberately. You cant even call it an accident, since God is supposedly infallible. Well kids, if he didn't fail then he created Lucifer to fall with foreknowledge and deliberation. No two ways about it.

yes, evil comes from G-d. evil exists, right? G-d is the source of everything that exists. i don't know if G-d is capable of evil, but i doubt it, since i don't think G-d has "capabilities" in the physical world. how can a being who is not part of the world do evil in it? you also need to look at the big pictures. are natural disasters evil? most theists agree that G-d created the laws of the universe. but no, it would be more evil to NOT have natural disasters. is a person murdering a baby, or a kitten, evil? yes, but did G-d guide him to take this action? no. so why blame G-d? theology is a lot more complex than simply asking "how can there be evil?"

as they say it depends on which side of the lighting bolt your on.
GOD as the CREATOR o fALL THINGS Knows duality in all of its forms. so yes God can be seen as evil by those that do not want to folow the laws of god and nature and wonder why they are in so much trouble.
GOD created the souls of ALL that WAS and WILL be from its own body.some were given spicfic tasks such as SATAN and JESUS. others are having to remember were they came from as they got to entranced by the feelings of entering a physical body. The rest stayed near their source of creation.
If you read the bible as a history book you will see the change in human kinds view of GOD from the Zeus type to the Peaceful caring type.
an exersise in learning how to think before opening your mouth and inviting trouble in.

As a matter of fact, elaborating on your idea, if God is not capable of evil, he is not capable of good either. I mean, you're good when you do something good, because being able to do the wrong thing, you choose to do it right. We're good, BECAUSE we choose, when we could have chosen to do the opposite. If you cannot choose, you aren't good. You're just doing the only thing your nature can tell you to do.

just because God allows man to suffer from the consequences of our evil deeds does not mean that it was beyond Gods power to stop it from happening. All acts of evil have to be punished if there is indeed justice and God is a Just God. He also told us "you reap what you sow" and "if you life by the sword you die by the sword"

Isaiah 45:7: "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. "
It sure sounds like ol' Yahweh is the source of evil, no?

Good point, it depends on your definition of evil. To me, evil is like a rampant egotism where you don't care who gets hurt as you pursue your own goal. By that definition yahweh is unquestionably evil. He slaughtered hundreds of thousands of people, either by his own hand or through other agents, in the pursuit of his goals.
