There are many prophesies in the Old Testament about Jesus living and dying for humanity. One of the most often-used examples is Isaiah 53. Compare the verses in this chapter with
John 12:38 ------- Isaiah 53:1
Matthew 8:17 ---- Isaiah 53:4
1 Peter 2:24 ------ Isaiah 53:5
Acts 8:30-35 ------ Isaiah 53:7,8
This is just the tip of the iceberg regarding prophesies of Jesus and His role in our salvation from sin and from God's eternal wrath. Still, I think it's an excellent beginning of the study.
The relationship between God, the Son (Jesus the eternal Christ), God, the Father (Yahweh), and God, the Holy Spirit is a mystery. It is common Christian orthodox doctrine to say that Jesus Christ is the second Person of the Trinity or Godhead and is God but yet distinct in some way. He is fully God and fully human. It's hard to wrap our minds around, if not impossible, but we see through a glass darkly.
Jesus redeemed the entire creation. It is up to us to accept His gift of salvation, though. Whosoever will may come to Him, but we can resist His grace as well. Those of the Calvinist persuasion will disagree with that statement, but I believe that we are responsible for our eternal fates. Though we are responsible for accepting God's gift, still, it remains, that we are saved only through God's power and we are unable to save ourselves.
I'm not sure that I answered your questions satisfactorily, but these sort of answers naturally lead to other questions, so more "give and take" is needed than is available in this sort of forum.
I pray that this is of some benefit to you and to God's kingdom.

Yes, the prophecy is specifically in several of the Old Testament Books. Pretty much, once you start studying the Bible and Prophecy, and are able to interpret the scripture you can find it reference to Jesus everywhere in the Bible. Jesus is God the son. God is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, 1 God who manifests himself in three persons. All equally God. Yes, I know it is hard to understand. Jesus let himself be hit, spit upon and killed all for us. It was prophicized and yes, he could have said no, but he loved us so much that he humbly died and shed his blood for our sins. Why blood -
'And they take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts andon the upper doorpost of the houses, wherein they shall eat it." Look at vers e 12.. "For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt execute judgment: l am the LORD. And the blood shall be tc for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood I will pass over you...." It didn't say, "When I see a dead lamb will pass over you." It says, "when I see the blood, I will pass you.
More importantly, Jesus, after dying defeats death and Satans evil by the resurrection.
Last question, he died to save the world IF they accept his gift of mercy and grace on the Cross. You can't earn it as it is a gift, all you have to do is accept Christ as savior and the rest of your tranformation will follow if it was truly from your heart. The chosen ones are the Jews, but they get salvation the same way as we do (the gentiles). The Jewish will hold a significant role in end times and will come to believe in Jesus. They have always held signifigance in events as they are a sort of time piece with Gods plan.

Yes there was. The Jews don't have the New Testament and they know fully well about the prophecy of the Savior. They just don't think He has come yet. Jesus is God and His Son. Trinity. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. God gave His only begotten Son. He let them kill him. They beat Him to a pulp, would it matter if they spit on Him. Jesus said He gave up His life freely. No one forced Him to do it. He did save the world rather the people who accept His free gift. The chosen ones are the ones that say yes to the gift of salvation.
The trinity is a hard concept to understand. I look at it like this.
The Sun, the light of the sun, the heat of the sun. You can see the sun, but it is so bright and hard to look at, it hurts your eyes. God. You can see the light of the sun, it lights your path. Jesus
You can't see the heat of the sun, but you know it's there, you can feel it. The Holy Spirit.

Well Jesus died for all of our sins. He died so that we have the opportunity to be saved. Everybody sins because no one is perfect. But because Jesus died on the cross if we repent and turn away from whatever sin it was God will forgive us. Jesus is the son of God, but God is Jesus. You see it's the trinity. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are all one in the same. Jesus is God's human form showing us that it is possible to live a holy and acceptable life according to God. And the Holy Spirit is God's spirit that lives on the inside of us that gives us power to perform all of the miracles that Jesus did. Hope this helps you out some on your curiosity. God allowed for Jesus to be struck becausewith him dieing and being resurrected it proved that he was the true Massiah and that there was a God. Yes Jesus had to go through all of the things that he went through. Because we will never have to go through something as painful as Jesus did. He was perfect and never did anything wrong. So the next time you think about complaining think about all of the things that Jesus went through for you because he loved you even before you were born. Yes Jesus saved a dieing world because through repentance we all have the opportunity to go to heaven. And unfortunately, yes. He is only going to take the chosen ones with him when he comes back. God is very percise and strict about who enters into heaven and if you are not living right you are not going to make it. You should read the book of Mattews and Revelations from the bible.

Think of Jesus as God's son, but also a part of God. There is only one God and Jesus is that God and God is Jesus. Originally, God required that people sacrifice an animal when they sinned as an offering for forgiveness. Blood for sin was the law God made.
When Jesus came, HE became the sacrifice. Since he is God, he became the ultimate sacrifice. No greater sacrifice could be made. Therefore, when you need forgiveness for sin, you are forgiven with the blood of Jesus. He saved the world from damnation with not only sacrifice but his teachings.
He taught people a more passive way of living that involved treating others like you wish to be treated, loving your neighbor, being humble, not being materialistic, saving others, having faith, using the power of determination and the mind, and through example he showed us how to stand strong in the face of temptation.
Pick up a modern bible and read one of the plain english (NOT King James) translations for the understandable and hopefully informative details. If you want advice on easy to read editions let me know.

There was a long standing prophecy about Jesus dieing long before it actually happened. Jesus and God are 1 and the same. Jesus came to save anyone who will believe he died to save them, simple as that. To read the scene of Jesus' death, try the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke or John in the bible. Google it.

You have asked this question in your ignorance of the Word of God. The very first prophecy spoken by God Himself tells of the why and wherefore that God had to die for all His children that accept Him. Go to the book of the Beginning, aka. Genesis and your first question will be answered. Now lets look at the second question.
You ask if Jesus was God or His Son. How many Gods are there? There is only one God is what you should be saying to yourself.
Go to John 1:1-3 and read this:
IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD, AND THE WORD WAS WITH GOD, AND THE WORD WAS GOD....etc.
Our Lord Jesus Christ is the Word of God. If you read the book of Revelation you will again gain knowledge to this fact.
Have you ever heard this: BEHOLD THE LAMB OF GOD WHO TAKES AWAY THE SINS OF THE WORLD. Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God who was sacrificed for our sins. He took your place on that cross. He died for you and me and everyone.
Everyone who believes on Jesus Christ and repents of their sins and obeys the Commandments of God is who the angels will collect and bring to God's Home to spend eternity.
I hope that my directness does not offend you, but if it drives you to the Word of God, so be it.><>

Jesus , and many great human beings before him, were born in the world and by their exemplery lives and character became beacons for the human race. It was natural that many followed their path of righteousness and they came to be accepted as spiritual leaders , worthy of worship and great rspect. I come from the land of Gautama Buddha who had a similar mission inhis lifetime.
Saving the world? I believe it is NOT in the hands of Gods but in the hands of god`s children- you and I - and the billion others. If we live the righteous life and the good path shown by jesus and buddha and the others the world is automatically saved. No special effort is needed.

1. Yes. Daniel 9:24-27
http://www.rusearching.com/nostradamus/nostradamusyearofdeath.htm
2. Jesus was fully man while, at the same time, fully God.
His death was necessary to redeem mankind.
3. His propitiation made it possible for the entire world to be saved. It is not automatic, however. One must confess and turn from their sins, accept Him as their Lord and Savior, and know they have been redeemed by the grace of God through His Son Jesus Christ.
