Me and this girl have been friends for 7 years. She's absolutely my best friend, and I know we love each other in a platonic way. However, as life would have it, I love her more than that. I know we'd be great together, we always have a good time together, and we share a lot of similar interests. Plus, like I said, we've been best friends for years. She knows I love her, and that I'd marry her in an instant, but she doesn't seem to like me like that. We currently live in different states, so I can understand her having boyfriends, but I'm hoping to win her heart so we can be together forever. Any ideas? She's coming to visit me in San Diego this Christmas, so I have a little time on my hands to try whatever. Thanks!

You sound like a sweet person that does truly care about this girl. That said... realize that even if you have feelings for her, she may not have them for you in return. Love isn't always easy and often it's just cruel. Maybe when she visits in December she'll see you in another light maybe not. Don't rush it though... because I've lost a few good guy friends when it turned to be more than friends. And I'm speaking from experience... it's never good to push a person in these types of things. What will happen will happen.

Good luck and be open for anything!

I am in a similar situation with a guy I have known for the last two years. Our relationship of course has not been as long as your seven year relationship but it sounds like the feelings are the same. I am every so often wanting to tell him that I would like the relationship to be more than what it is right now but I am afraid it would change the dynamics if he did not feel the same way. So what I am trying to say is to wait it out if you can to see if she would come around and tell you how she really feels about you. You can ask her to tell you honestly and whatever her answer is...is something that you would have to accept whether she is interested in you as more than a friend or just likes it actually how it is right now. I agree that you can't make someone feel the same way you would like them to feel. Good luck with this! Whatever will be will be!

<<>> Tell her how you feel. You've been friends for 7 years - I don't know how old you are, but that's quite a while. You should be able to express yourself in any way you want. You'll never know unless you take the plunge. Sorry I have no better advice, just good luck.

Unfortunatley you can't get anyone to feel something that just isn't there. I know your pain I've been there. My guy only saw me as a sister type but had no problems seeing my sister as date material. to my satisfaction it didn't last long. I miss him so much.
he died several years ago. My point cherish what you have.

I would say try soft music and if you can sing, try a nice Christmas song. Make sure you look into her eyes and make a nice romantic dinner. Make it all sincere.
