The Mormons are so kind. A group of Mormon men cleared some fallen trees from my yard at no charge after Katrina. They were so joyful and filled with spirit that they were lit up like light bulbs. I was very impressed.

I particularly liked your second question, "Would you go on a mission for your church?" Many young men and women serve full-time missions for the LDS church at their own expense. And to do what? Teach other people what they believe to be true, provide community service, and get persecuted for it by many.

Most other 19-year-olds in the general population are either too preoccupied with finishing their college education, getting a job, playing sports, having "fun" (by partying, drinking beer, and having premarital sex), or simply just wouldn't have the desire to share the gospel with other people. Think about it: how many young people are willing to put their personal lives on hold for a couple of years while they serve the Lord?

I wonder how many other churches exist that have a large percentage of its members who have served as missionaries. Or better yet, how many churches even have missionaries? I would like to know, because so far I have only seen Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons. I am sure there are others. I think if every Christian religion had the same zeal in sharing the gospel, there should be missionaries everywhere!

I think that the Church of Jesus Christs of Latter-Day Saints (aka LDS or Mormon) is a great church, but this statement is slightly biased because I am a strong and faithful member of my religion. I support all of the aspects of the LDS religion, and if I am able to, I will go on a mission for the LDS church when I am 21. I hope to go on a service mission using my skills as a pharmacist (which is the occupational field I intend to go to), but this might not necessarily happen because where I go on a mission depends on revelation and it is not my choice to make, but the Lord's.

I do not make this choice alone, because my older brother is also currently serving a mission outside of the United States of America.

I submit my mission papers next week! I am excited to share my knowledge with others, to not do so would be selfish of me.

If they would just stop knocking on doors and harrassing people I wouldn't have a single problem with them.
