What is your opinion? She has a garage full of old signs, like realtor signs, garage signs, yard sales, open house, babysitting signs, new business signs, and she's DARN proud of it; claiming she is teaching her children about civic order, (quoted the city ordinace about placing signs on public property) and, also feels adament about maintaining the property value in our neighborhood. I feel she's an idiot, but heck, knock yourself out, but... despite, this,, does this really contribute to a viable form of community outreach, and public concern?

Yes, I think your neighbor is doing us all a favor. Stupid campaign ads litter my town and make it look like crap 6-7 months down the road. Not only that, but whenever a person steps up to help beautify the city they ARE doing their civic duty. They volunteered themselves in a way they knew how. Good job for your neighbor.

Our voted top city in US to live in 2 years in a row has that same sign ordinance. We do not have to pick them up like your kind neighbor, the city does & fines the owners $100 a sign.
Makes for a lovely place to live. Old signs do bring down property value & are an eyesore too.

I hate those signs. I wish my city would crack down on them, because they people put them up and never take them down even long after their garage sale is long over.

The thing that confuses me is why your neighbor is hanging onto them. I mean, if they are made of cardboard or paper products they have to be a fire hazzard. Plus, they are just taking up space.
