I asked for it to be Shoulder Length and he chopped it all the way to my ears......I'm devasted and can't even get out of bed. I know this sounds pathetic, but my hair was already an insecurity to begin with. Please tell me about how long (months) it will take to get back to shoulder length and will all these Layers ever be even or grow out so you can't tell they're there. Thanks. I know there's more important issues, but i'm really hurt over this. thank you.

well, that depends on how fast your hair grows...But, to help it along. Go to any salon and ask for a scalp treatment every six weeks. This will stimulate your scalp and help your hair grow a bit faster. This could take 3 months or so.. But, like I said, that depends on how fast it grows. Until then, work what you got!!! Find cool ways to style it in the meantime. Play with it a bit. You may find that you like it more than you expected. But defiantely find a new hair dresser!!!! Hope this works out for you.

Ooh, girl, I had the same thing happen to me. Don't feel bad, I balled my eyes out too and it was soooooo hard to even get out of bed. I totally know the feeling. I don't think I'm vain either,I just felt gross, kinda like I was in someone elses body,I just want to feel comfortable in my own skin, I'm not asking to have the most beautiful hair. I'm still trying to grow the mess out and I totally know what you mean about the layers! I NEVER in my life want layers in my hair EVER again. I didn't ask for such short hair and layers anyways. When you get your hair to your shoulders, just have it cut from the bottom, eventually the layers will be gone. I would have to see you hair to guess at how long it will take to get at least to the length you want. Hair grows about half an inch a month. I know it's really difficult to deal with, but just remember, you are not your hair, people that love you and people that are your friends won't care what your hair looks like. Do you think if you got a curling iron and curled it that it might look better? Someone that I know ruined my hair also and I know the hurt feeling also. Try not to stay inside, go out and do things,it will get easier as your hair grows. Good luck (hugs) P.S. I agree with the person above me .

Oh you poor thing. I know exactly how you feel. You will feel better in a few days, but for now it is just a shock because more than what you wanted was cut off. It will take a few months to grow out. All your hair will grow out evenly how it is cut now, so to get rid of the layers you have to be patient and let you hair grow long enough to cut the layers out. For now you should just learn to work with it the best you can. When my hair was butchered I bought small colorful clips and tried different ways of putting them in my hair. I actually got a lot of compliments too.

I can never understand why stylists do this....I mean I always take a little off cuz u can always go back and take more if needed, just remember its just hair and it will grow back, in the mean time, use styling creme, pomade or wax and play around with it, when it starts growing back (about 6 weeks or so) have it TRIMMED just across the bottom to catch the layers up, each time do this until layers catch up, just shape the rest of hair every other time, and definately find another stylist u can trust.

im a hair dresser and want to say how sorry i am. i here horror stories all the time. ok, first i want to say your hair grows a half inch a month. second if you dont want the layers you will want to just get the lenght, or the botton cut to let the layers catch up. third next time take a pic to the salon with you so that way you know you and your hair dresser are on the same page. im a hair dresser my self and have gotten cuts i hate, i go out, buy new clothes and makeup that always makes me feel better. and try playing with it, buy a small curling iron, and some of that panteen shine palmade and have fun, or try going a diffrent color, highlights mabey? i truely am sorry and hope you feel better soon and just know it always always grows back. good luck

Run to GNC and get their hair vitamins, it works great to help hair grow in faster. No one can tell you exactly how long it will take to grow in, a bad bob can take quite a while. Mine took 6 months and I did not cut off the bottom layer cause I needed that length to hide how uneven the back was.
Also go back and talk to the manager of the salon. They should refund you for the cut and also offer you a full head of extensions and agree to replace the extensions at least once as your hair starts to grow out.. Please go back and complain to someone in charge. Even if they won't do anything for you, get the owners name and write to them with the stylist name so that butcher gets fired. (((hug)))

You can begin by letting the stylist know how you feel and getting your money back.
You could go to another salon ...? If not get something for your hair like a wax/paste that you can add to make your hair textured looking. It will add to your new style. This could turn out well. In time you will learn how to work your new look and you might even have fun with it. Remember it's not your hair that defines you (yes, at times it may seem like it) it's you. Good luck.
