What a bummer! Gargling with salt water and other things are good. The most soothing thing I've found is to gargle with Benadryl or Chloraseptic spray. If you have need of more relief, get an RX from your Dr. for the liquid form of Lidacane (sp). Mix that (about 1 teaspoon) with the Benadryl liquid (about 1/4th cup), and gargle and spit or swallow. It won't make you sick. My Dr. said my throat looked like raw hamburger and the two things mixed together gave me relief right away! Hope you feel better fast.

Lemon, Apple Cider Vinegar, Cayenne and Honey Tea. An old home remedy for sore throats. Add 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, a pinch of cayenne pepper, juice of 1/4 a lemon, and 1 teaspoon of honey to a cup. Add 1 cup of hot water and stir. Drink up to 4 cups a day.

Just prepare a solution of warm (not very hot) water and salt, not the iodized salt but the native or sea salt (the one with very small cubic granules used in cooking) and use that solution as a gargle. Let that solution penetrate your throat and let it stay in your mouth for a minute or two before you spit it out. Do this as often as you can and presto! your sore throat will disappear.

Hot water with lemon juice (real lemons, if you can afford them). If you get some money, add chamomile tea, and honey. If you have bad hayfever skip the chamomile (you might be allergic). Ginger can be good too, either the tea, or the raw root, but it tastes strong. Be good to yourself. :-)

Nce chamomile tea. My favorite is peach flavor. :) I know boiling and drinking warm ginger is supposed to help heal the throat and make it feel better.
