get the consumer reports buying guide on reliability.

Off hand, Toyota's and Honda's are rated highly.

Well...

please....remember that ALL CARS have their problems...there is no such thing as a perfect car...I have been a mechanic for 20 years now...I have worked for GM....I worked for Ford and Toyota....every car has something....

Decide on what YOU want....or you will not be happy....

You are buying a new car so you are going to have a warranty...MAINTAIN your vehicle and it will treat you well!!

I now own a dealership and once again....I can tell you that no matter what vehicle you decide on...it will have some kind of known issues....

I tend to stay towrds the NORTH AMERICAN cars just because they are less expensive to repair but once again....find something YOU LIKE....not what some consumer report likes....

I used to have a friend (going back 20 years ago) and he worked and wrote reports for CAA....he swears by HONDA...which is fine...we used to have arguments over his reports because he has never even owned anything BUT A HONDA...he was basing the information on OTHER reports and on 10 minutes test drives...now, do you think his reports were honest or just his opinion on what he likes....

you like a GTI?....get it!...because no matter else you choose....you will be comparing it to the GTI.....buy extended warranties....maintain your vehicle....and you will be happy...

If you're planning to buy a new car with the best price in mind
and reliability and safety are the main concerns, I suggest strongly (with my personal experience with Toyota cars) that
you should buy a Japanese-made Toyota Corolla 1.6GLi.

It is very reliable, high performance, easy to handle on the road
and economical in fuel intake. It has good safety features, like
overall stability, when taking sharp corners at fast speed.
Moreover, Toyota cars has high resale value, spare parts cost
reasonable and easy servicing and maintenance.

Don't wait any longer. Get the Toyota today!

i would have to completly agree with B auto above. but vw's are bad cars motor trend just released a best & worst cars article it has statistics for every car. but scions wich are realt toyotas and hondas and acuras are the best cars on the market. my girl friend has an 85 honda accord and it runs great and has no problems and still gets great gas mileage look for any other kind of car that has had 5 different drivers and is an 85' and i bet you will not find any european cars and very few american and lots of hondas.

I just bought a 2006 Chevy Cobalt LS Coupe with an option package. Safety ratings are very impressive and the price not bad also.
