i have a daughter that is 14 and her cousin is 9 months younger than she is. why is my daughter a foot taller than her male cousin? i thought boys r taller than girls.
people think he is about 9 or 10 y/o and all the girls in his class r taller than him.

Did you really thing all boys are always taller than all girls? What world are you living in?
There is no way to really know for sure how tall he will get, but chances are he will definitely grow taller than he is now, so dont stress :o)

I knew a boy who was my height for at least 3 years in high school........
After one summer, he came back and was like a foot and a half taller... no joke!

They don't have the same genetics. They are more unlike than alike. Any way, girls are generally taller at first, until the boy passes her up.

Boys grow at a different rate than girls. My son was 5'4" all through HS. Now he's 6'3". Girls stop growing when they get their period.

No, it is actually the opposite. When he reaches purberty, he will shoot up and the girls will be at their permanent height at that time. Girls develop faster than guys.

typically, girls mature earlier than boys. also, height depends on genes and other factors. these genes are taken from both mother and father so just because they are related. it doesnt mean they have similar height genes.
