Okay, please no comments like, "haven't I answered this question before," or other smart-*** comments like that, I want real answers. And also, could you possibly explain why it is when I do have deja vu, I can usually tell what's going to happen next, like, even within the next 5 or ten seconds (which is a long time if you think about it). Please, Scientific answers, no "Matrix" crap either. It was a good movie and all, but not the answer(s) to my question(s).

ive always wondered that myself, it happens to me a lot.
i think it has something to do with psychic powers (and i know ppl are going to give me hell for saying that) but everyone does have some sense of foreseeing the future. its a brain process. i think its stronger in some ppl, and thats why we get deja vu's.
im sorry, i thought i was going to be a lot of help, and evidently i was wrong... try this link, itll say it better then i can

There has been some speculation that deja vu, which is a strong feeling of having been somewhere in the past, could be a result of having lived before. But even though I consider myself open-minded, it's a little hard for me to swallow. In other words, there are people who, under deep hypnosis or psychoanalysis, claim to have had a past life. You've probably heard stories like this yourself, although I don't know how authentic they actually are.
From what you say about being able to tell what's going to happen, you could be psychic -- knowing with some degree of accuracy what is about to transpire, being able to have contact with people who are miles away just through thought process, and having strong intuitive feelings. If this is you, consider it a gift that few people possess.
I don't know how scientific my answer is, but from personal experience, I am psychic myself, so I can relate to the feelings you have. But as far as their origin, I am clueless. I don't profess to have had a former life, because I don't really believe it's possible any more than having an afterlife once you have died. But that's just my humble opinion, and not gospel.
If you want a professional take on it, why not undergo psychoanalysis to uncover the source of your deja vu. Who knows, you might be another Bridie Murphy, a woman who, under hypnosis, claimed that she lived a former life.

For me, my deja vu's come from dreams. My first one was when I was around 8 I dreamed I was in a car and read a sign on the side of the highway. A few weeks later on the way back from the Grand Canyon, I saw that exact same scenario and sign and instanly recognized it from my dream. This has happened to me dozens and dozens of times throught my life.
The only assumption I can come up with is deja vu's are either a peak into the future, or a manifestation of the will of your mind.

I don't know what causes it but it happens alot to me. It's like I dream about it and then it happens. I think it has something to do with the 6th sense. Out of the blue I would tell my boyfriend to be careful when he went out and then he'd come home hurt or had a wreck. It's just a feeling that I had at the time. It's just FREAKY!!

It is a trick of the mind. Your brain produces a chemical that tells you that something is familiar. Recent lab tests have shown that your brain gets it's wires crossed every now and then, and a semi-familiar situation will cause the hormone release. You then believe that the situation has happened before, but it really hasn't.

Honestly, in my opinion, we all have a part in our brain connected to the Space-time continuum that allows us to see into the future in our dreams, like, most of the times, my Dejavu comes from small parts of my dreams that I faintly remember, thus, when that certain part of your dream actually happens, it causes a kind of jolt in your mind that thinks this has happened before but you sometimes you don't know where from, but that's only my theory.

There is no scientific answer.
You would have to believe in precognition or the future intruding on the present, neither of which are scientific
