jewishgirl: so all amputees are perfectly happy? None have prayed to god to heal them? Have you ever been to a poor country like....mexico for example? Have you ever seen a POVERTY STRICKEN amputee? A person with no legs, no money, no benifit of american welfare, no way to work to provide for his family. No, healthcare...
ARE YOU RETARDED???? You think because your boyfriend's dad is happy, EVERYBODY is happy with "no legs"? Just admit it....YOUR GOD DOESN'T ANSWER PRAYERS...not just amputees...NOBODY. Not one. Your god is a joke.

You'll notice that not one of the xians actually tried to answer the question. They dodged it in lots of curious ways and bizarre ways ("it's not a disease" "theres' nothing wrong with them" and the usual he "could if he wanted to"...H'uh?? Wasn't that the actual frickin' question?)
Clearly none of them went to the website where as you know there is a very well constructed argument for god's non-existence as shown by the fact he seems to have something against amputees. They never do actually read the source material, they just deny, ignore and attack blindly...that is the xian way.
Xians claim gods healing power and miracles all the time..its all over their TV shows, their website....but it always seems to be for things that aren't obvious or incontravertible. Cancer, arthritis, addiction. Jesus states in no uncertain terms in several places in the gospels...and i'll paraphrase...IF YOU HAVE FAITH, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH PRAYER. ALL THINGS. Not some things, or everything except growing somebodys leg back. Even if you only have faith of a mustard seed, apparently you can move mountains. Has no xian in history EVER had enough faith??
Cancer is a really good one for god to heal miraculously...cancer sometimes does go into remission, theres' no proof offered that the person ever had cancer in the first place, but we are supposed to take their word for it that "god healed"
A missing limb is something else. What if the person was a good xian all their life, and lost their legs saving a baby from a fire. What if they prayed, and all their church prayed, and they got everybody on this website to pray, and they go Pat Robertson and Billy Graham praying...hell, get the pope in on this too, don't want to discriminate against catholic prayers...they've had more practice than anybody else. What do you think would happen to those missing legs?
Nothing.
There has never been in the history of "healing" a case of a god fearing, prayer loving christian amputee whose leg grew back. Why is that? Does god just hate amputees for some reason?
Or is it that god is just imaginary and prayer is superstition.

Excuses, excuses, excuses, Christians! If you rely on God and the Bible for the answers to your life's questions, why do you need or dare to apologize for him and come up with your own explanations? Christians never dare to think for themselves and speak on their own except when they need to apologize for their God's ridiculousness.
Why would he actually heal cancer and other ailments as many claim and not amputees? Did Jesus say that your Father will grant you whatever you ask, except a new leg? Dead men tell no tales, which is probably a good thing for God, as they can't tell you about all of their prayers that went unanswered. Why does he give amputees only spiritual strength while fully healing those whose claims of miracles are not so easily discredited?
If God exists and ever heals anyone or anything, the healing takes place in a person's mind and heart as he learns to accept his life and his world as they actually are. I can't quite picture God temporarily suspending the natural laws of nature in order to do special favors.
Miracles are in the mind of the beholder.

why would G-d heal amputees? do you feel amputees are so inferior that only an evil god would refuse to heal them? there's nothing wrong with amputees. so what if they don't have their left leg, or whatever. that doesn't make them "unnatural people" or less than human.
EDIT
Kathryn B, you are advocating a web site whose core question is discriminatory against amputees. i wonder how many amputees out there would agree that there is something so very wrong with them, that the fact that they can't get "fixed" is proof of G-ds nonexistence. thats insulting. my little brother is developmentally disabled, i guess there must be no G-d since he allows such an abomination to exist, and does not "heal" him.
EDIT
Gee, gino. my boyfriend's father has no legs because of an accident he was in over 20 years ago. i guess he has no more reason to continue living, now that the best things in life, such as family, happiness, love, community, education, etc, are useless to him, since he has no legs to enjoy them with. get real. my boyfriend's dad is the happiest guy on the planet.
EDIT
"Xians claim gods healing power and miracles all the time..its all over their TV shows, their website"
why did you use my argument of there being nothing wrong with them to heal( which is true), and then say it was a christian belief? i am jewish. jews think miracles are stupid. of course G-d is not going to heal somebody. that's stupid too. it assumes that there is something to heal (which is a societal belief, not a religious one, there is nothing in the bible saying that there is a problem with people with disabilities). the only argument you could possibly use is with a fatal illness, ie cancer, and once again - why would G-d heal them? people are meant to die. death is not a punishment, it is a fact of life. you can disbelieve in G-d, i don't care, there is no proof of G-d and i can admit it. but saying that G-d does not exist because he doesn't heal everybody of whats bothering them is a lame argument. if you're going to disbelieve in G-d, disbelieve for a reasonable reason, such as "there is no scientific evidence." and for G-ds sake, don't use disabled people as proof there is no G-d. thats disgusting.
EDIT
"JEWISHGIRL completely missed the point of the website and my answer. Zoooooooooooooom"
*sigh* i did not miss the point of your web site. among other things, it says that there is no proof of G-d, and there is no proof that it is G-d who heals you when you have cancer, and therefore why believe in G-d? as a matter of fact, i agree with this. about two hours ago in a question somebody asked where she wanted testimonies of G-d, i said the EXACT SAME THING. my exact wording, as a matter of fact, was "how do you testify about G-d? its impossible. the only testimony anybody can use is "i began to believe and my life improved." thats not testimony of G-d. thats testimony that you believe G-d changed your life, when it could have just been yourself." so, obviously, i'm not "misunderstanding" the web site.
EDIT
no, gino, obviously not everybody who is an amputee is perfectly happy. are YOU perfectly happy? is anybody? why is an amputee unhappy? is it because they can't drive a car? they can drive a car. is it because they can't get a job? they can get a job. is it because they will never get married and find true love? my boyfriend's dad got married to his second wife, who is pretty and kind, AFTER he had no legs, so obviously this is not true either. how many things are there that a non-amputee can do, but an amputee cannot? not a whole lot, and certainly nothing important. what is barring them from being happy? nothing. it's a psychological issue that they need to work out themselves, and obviously, its possible to do since there are amputees who are happy. yes, many of them are (not surprisingly) unhappy, especially in places such as mexico where there is little aid for them. whose fault is that - G-d's? why aren't you blaming mexico, where the fault actually lies?
EDIT
and as a matter of fact, you are correct. i do not believe G-d answers prayers.

Who says He doesn't? What kind of healing are you talking about? I wonder if those that are amputees and are followers of God wouldn't differ with you in those two things. Maybe they are needed as they are and not the way you or anyone else wants them to be, instead of feeling sorry for anyone with any disability, feel love, compassion, friendship, joy and accompllishment with them. You may get a little healing of your own.

How to, "Heal an amputee?" God can certainly give the amputee the courage, power and strength to carry on, thus, the amputation not bothering them, they are healed.
