Sounds like it is infected to me. I think I would try to put medicine on it for a day or two and leave the stud in. If it does not get better I would just go ahead and take it out. You may be allergic to the metal in the stud ring. I think if you use alcohol and neosporin you should be fine without removing the ring and having it repeirced again. You know I sat through a tattoo with no problem, but I watched my girl friend get her nose piereced and I just could not do it.

That same friend had her eye brow pierced and it got infected really bad but she kept her ring in and just kept medicine on it and it healed up after about three days or so.

I had the same thing on my ear and it was all blood but after a day or two i put my earing back in because i didnt want the hole to close and it went away. Just make sure the nosering is not to tight and clean it with peroxide to keep it from getting an infection. If it does not go away after a few days take the nosering out and see what happens. Good luck

IMO
I would disinfect the area, and let the scab heal.

However if you are interested in keeping the nose stud that is a different matter.

I'd let it reheal myself.. I wouldn't risk the complication (but I don't have any piercings)
