I had my first grandchild in June. Let me tell you that is one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. My daughter and son-in-law let me and his mother be in the delivery room and assist with the delivery. Oh my goodness, it was so amazing being on that end for a change!!! My son-in-law is in the Navy so my daughter and grandson have been staying with us for awhile, and that is also truly amazing, I have made a new rule, all my grandchildren have to spend at least the first week of their life at grandma's house so I can have a bonding time with them, lol!!! Something else we noticed upon our grandson's birth, was with the amount of time my daughter spent with me and her mother-in-law our grandson new our voices the moment he entered this world. He quieted right down when he heard us talking to him as he lay there while the nurses cleaned him up. Enjoy being a grandparent because it is great!!!

Well you first happy that your daughter has had a healthy baby'.
But it hits you hard when someone calls you granny I was
35 it real made me feel old, Then your life goes on like your
mother its really wierd, well go luck just enjoy that new baby.

Great you can feed the grand kids candy, let them play in the mud, spoil them rotten and then give the back to their parents to straighten out.

it is a very special feeling,awesome,..although i do not have any grandchildren,but the reason Y i say it awesome & special feeling is bc i have step grandchildren.but to me they are not step,they are my blood grandchildren & i love them 2 pieces :-}
