If someone has no preconceptions about your possible religion, then it doesn't matter what you say first.
The problems start when they have preconceptions and start tearing your beliefs apart before you have finished the first sentence. I usually try to use positive terms they are familiar with, so they have something to relate to.

Ooowww that is going to make me think.
first off, i would not just start talking about my religious beliefs.
i feel that if someone wants to know that they will ask. however if someone were to ask me and they had no previous knowlege of my beliefs i would probally need to know something about their beliefs to have a starting point. so my answer would be dependent on who was asking me.
if i am to assume that the persn has no religious influence and no religious beliefs, which is what i assume from how your question is worded.
i would say.
I believe that we should respect all life. when we kill an animal for food, we should thank the spirit of that animal for giving it's life so that we may live. and we should thank the sun for warmth and the river for water. and we can thank these things in the names of Ceunerouus, Morrigan, Lugh, Brigid, etc...
because these are the gods that watch over these things.

Whew, a hard question. I don't really know. There is so many important things that I would like to share with them, but at the same time I would want them to read it for themselves. You know, I'm baffled. I have five children, and they all know and believe in God. I think it would take time to explain your religion to someone who has never even heard of religion.
I guess I would tell them that their is a God in the heavens that loves you. He sent his only begotten son down to earth to die for our sins. Then I would have to go into the first Parents created.
By the way, is that a picture of you on your avatar? If it is, You could pass for a twin to my daughter. You both are beautiful.

I would tell them that when I read the Bible for myself, it was like having a jig saw puzzle without corner or edge pieces and no picture on the top--very, very difficult to put things together. But, once I began to see the Bible with the help from Jehovah's Witnesses, it was as if the edge and corner pieces suddenly were given back to me and a picture began to show up on the tops of the pieces so that everything fits together now and I have been able to draw close to God as never before.

I believe in truth, beauty, justice and love. There is no deity, no god, no goddess's, there's no book to read and no rules to follow. there isn't a heaven or a hell, angels demons or purgatory.. it doesn't exist. if you mess up - you mess up and you live with the consequences. When you die, you go back to the earth.
I believe in the beauty of the world around me, from the struggling flower in the sidewalk and rats in the subway to the vast pacific ocean and the brilliant redwoods.
I believe in truth.. tell the truth, and seek it. I believe in justice - mind you that justice can be all forms and it may not be the justice your looking for. .
I believe in Love. I love my family, I love my friends, I love animals and kids and ice cream. Love is easy and one should love a little every day.. love something that's never been loved before.
I believe in me. and this works for me, and what may work for me may not work for you.. and I am ok with that.
I don't hate you for what you believe and all I can do is ask the same..

That I revere nature and worship multiple Gods. It comes up quite a bit, especially since I wear a pentacle to work almost every day.

I would have to tell them about my whole life stories that are all connected to God's great compassion, and mercy, for his children in need, we were all born for God purpose, we were a thoughts of God before being born, God breathe into his thoughts, and we became Spirits, and God sent us to be a redeem person, to do his will, for his pleasures, we are his family, God wants to see us all use are gifts that He gave us.... it putt's a smile on his face:)
God was with me, his compassion, and mercy saved my life so many times, one suicide, two car crashes, one drowning, guns fired and pointed at me, fire, bicycle incident, snowmobile incident, and four times I drove off the road. I walked away from every one of them, ty God.

There once walked the earth a man who loved us before we were born. And that man gave his own life so that we could have eternal life.

.I would tell them that God loves them and that He wants everyone to go to Heaven. But we are all sinners, and the wages of sin is death, which is separation from God. But God had a plan to reconcile us to Himself. He sent Christ, who knew no sin, to be sin for us, and to die on the Cross, so that whoever believes and accepts Christ will have eternal life.
