Discipline is too lax. Grades are meaningless because they are inflated. Classes are too easy and students aren't prepared for jobs and colleges.
Not what you expected, huh?

Not enough focus on natural gifts, and personal help in areas where help is needed. What would it take for everyone to get an A in Algebra? Why would anyone not want to? Too much time allowed for chitchat, and not enough tutoring. Not enough focus on helping students find their interests along the way, while helping them to excel at whatever they do. If students feel different than others and just cant fit in, there should be special schools for those who are socially distant; if counseling provided determines that the student feels he or she does not fit in no matter what. I think there should always be a dress code if education is to be taken seriously, and boys and girls taught separately. There should be shorter summer breaks possibly, with suggested but not required activities. Special care should be given to make sure everyone has a physical activity he or she enjoys; whether it is a team sport, or a solitary exercise. Why are loners and nonacademics allowed to fall through the cracks?

homework is a major problem each class should give a assignment for homework on a coop method. for example, English Mon, science, Tues, math wed etc..........my grandchildren have homework from every class ,every day and that is too much for students. it is unfair and the students do not really learn anything. it is pushed and forces students to copy or cheat a little just to get the assignment done and that is not good....
i also feel there should be a dress code, no sloppy pants [all the down to their ankles, that is ugly and disrespectful..........]i also think that lunches should be more decent food and not the slop they serve kids. junk food and sodas should be the students option.......make the teachers teach more in class not not leave the students to their own resources to learn....

Tests! Useless facts! Information which has no connection with your life! Teachers who can't make their subject interesting. Teachers who don't grade papers for days, teachers who don't care. Busy work. Clics and predudice and bullying and early realeases which mean you gotta get up early for a half day of school where the classes are shortened and all anyone wants is to get out of there...I could go on and on..but I won't bore you..after all I AM a teacher!!!

What i hated most were arrogant pompous staff that only taught because they were recieving a paychecks, I hated fire drills when it was too too hot or too too cold, I hated teachers tellin you get to class if you see my feet moving im obviously going someplace, i hated copying notes from the board because our school was broke and our teachers only recieved a limited amount of paper, and I hated the students who were annoying and just outlandish!!!

Homework. I can often learn things the first time I see them, and so homework is unnecessary. I don't like doing it, and not doing it brings my grade down.
