Would do you want more?
The Bush Administration has no idea what to do anymore (It's really a shame) and they can't seem to admit it. But the CIA leakage proved everything we all should have known for years. The fact that our current strategy is about as effective as tapping a giant beehive with a stick.

SO, with that in mind...would you rather continue TRYING to solve our issues militarily...
OR
Go with the Democrats' plan to slowly withdraw troops if elected in November, and soon after have an international conference with many world leaders?

OR
Can you think of a strategy, which is better than either of the two?

I would like to see different opinions. But please no irrelevant bashing on either side.

I believe they should use more Judo and bend the Iraqi military to a more useful tool. One thing the U.S. militry is doing wrong is bending tribes into one tribe. I think the Iraqi military will be more useful if the troops patroled their own home street rather than become a national fighting force. As the fighting dies down (Where does an Iraqi soldier run when he is defeated in his home town? They will fight more effectively, because they would have no place to go), in a couple of generations, they will group more and work together.

In Afganistan, it's a little bit tricker. There is a lot of drugs (more selling than using) and poverty. I also don't think they are fighting the Taliban. The real Taliban fled to Pakistan via Tora Bora and set up military recruiting centers modeled after the U.S. military recruiting centers. There Pakistanis are given money, new clothes and a rifle where they go off and get shot up or blow themselves up in Afganistan. Also the boarder towns support the Taliban. I believe these southern towns should be uprooted by force and move to Northern Afganistan. This would greatly reduce the influence, shelter and supplies to the enemy. Caught out in the middle of nowhere and without supplies the enemy will have to relocate to the nearest supply center or die. This supply center would be some village in Pakistan, because they won't be able to find a safe haven in Afganistan. Without a real ability to work in Afganistan, they will move to another target and the Taliban influence in Afganistan will die out over time.

Simply flexing your military muscle and bombing another country to fulfill your agenda worked in the 20th Century, especially the first half. That no longer works in the 21st Century. People are more mobile. People are more informed on what happens all over the globe on an on-going basis. The "Shock and Awe" that the US military was expecting from the Iraqi people never really materialized. More than "Shock and Awe", they were probably wondering why it was happening all over again (the war the Iran, Hussein's crackdowns, Gulf War I, Gulf War II...)

I believe we live in a time where politics are starting to function at the global, not national level. One wrong word by an international figure (such as the current Pope), could have dire consequences hundreds, even thousands of miles away.

I feel that we should try to solve our issues diplomatically, and when that does not work, use political and economic pressure in a unified effort with other nations.

There is no easy strategy here. The only strategy is grit, determination, hard work and above all, understanding and respect for the culture and history of people living around the globe.

I think America should keep its nose out of other people's business.
No-one has ever attacked America.
Even 9/11 was totally self inflicted. It was definitely an inside job, with no Arabs invo;vede. And anyway, even Bush admits that Iraq and 9/11 are not connected. So what the hell is America doing in Iraq.
Its only because America's econonomy is dependent on war that war takes place.
America should sort its own troubles out at home, and leave others to do the same.

America needs to focus on the problems its foreign policy has cause, and why they are targets for so much anger.
More of their gigantic military budget should be spent on intelligence (which they lack in many ways) rather than ensuring full spectrum dominance on the battlefield.
They need to stay out of the middle east and stop supplying arms to countries such as Turkey, Israel and Columbia, its only going to come back and bite them in the ****.
You guys just need to calm down.

Let the generals handle the war and not Rumsfeld who has screwed everything up along with the rest of the Bush administration.

Pull our troops out of Bagdad and let them sort out their tribal territories. We can standby somewhere close.
Support our efforts with advisors only, make NATO keep the peace, but let whoever wants to fight each other in the unpopulated areas until they are satisfied.
We will always be involved now, so let's pace ourselves and save some money. I'm worried too much money is being grafted here and there.

I think we should nuke them.
I want you to ride the first bomb down.

For those who don't get it, borrow a crayon and write this down...
The Islamic Extremists won't quit until all non-Muslims have converted to Islam or are dead.
If you let them take over the Middle East and spread their jihad all over the world, eventually they will be here.
When the Islamic Religous Police show up at your door and say "Convert or Die"; what will you do?
The Democrats say we should try to understand them, negotiate, quit doing things to inflame them... unless we ALL become Muslin, that isn't going to work.
Take your pick, us or them.
