Many (though not all) Christians accept the Bible as the inspired word of God, and thus the authoritative source of spiritual and life truth. Thus, if it is found in the Bible, then there is little need for those who accept scriptural authority to, as you put it, "think anything above Bible."

The shame is that not enough Christians have really studied the Bible.

Christians are people. People's knowledge and education varies upon that person. However the Bible is the word of God. It's the most important book ever written. Just we Christians use the Bible to answer questions doesn't mean that we're idiots. However, it's the only source that we should need.

The Bible is the Word of God, our creator. Perhaps if you knew a little bit about the origin of the Bible you could begin to understand why we hold on to this truth. This is the only book that has books with in it that were written by several different men who did not know each other from several different countries but told the same stories about the Lord. All these men were inspired by God to write these same stories about the same people and truths..remember, none of these men knew each other... this is just one small bit of how the Bible came about.

If I ask you how to spell a word, you go to the book that has the answer.
A doctor looks into a medical book for answers.
Almost every one gets there answers from a book of some kind.
As Christians we only need one book for the answer.
The Bible has been proved to be written over 2000 years ago.It is a book of facts. Those who are intelligent enough to read it will have to agree.Read the 4 Gospels you will be amazed at how a book written 2000 years ago is talking about modern day wars.

But, as Christians, that is who we are. We believe in the Bible and hold it up as our authority.

It is like a pyramid. We use the bible as the base and build from there. Other cultures, other disciplines, also use some beginning - or some basis of what they believe and build their belief system from there.

If one learns something from an encyclopedia, and are asked about that - they will most likely cite that book as their frame of reference - and that is what we are doing with the Bible - we believe it is God's word.

Nope. Even if you asked em a sports question whatever they say "look in the bible" or send you a heap of scripture. They breath, eat and sleep the bible, then constantly spew the quotes out to the rest of us 24/7

Well let's think about that for a minute. Christians are called Christians because they follow Jesus Christ. How do we know of Jesus? From the bible.

There's your answer.
