What amuses me is that apparently they have so LITTLE faith in their creator that they could not accept that evolution could BE his plan...

Actually, I think the word used in Genesis, as was translated in the King James Version, was "dust." Dust can be several things especially in the language of 1611, which is when that version was authorized.

I don't have a problem with having a biological relationship with other non-human primates. I think the proposition we are made out of dirt is a bit of a misinterpretation, however. We are constructed out of the elements and compounds found in nature and common to life.

I see life as a miracle of God, and I'm not awfully particular about knowing the exact way He created that miracle. Evolution is a fact, whether we like it or not. It can be demonstrated and observed in nature. I think the Darwinian approach is a bit outdated--to say the least--but having a common ancester with a chimp wouldn't bother me that much.

I just hope the differences in the ways we have evolved are noticeable.

Exactly. I'd rather be something that can think and live then be the dirt under it's feet...and get pooed on by every animal in the area... Maybe part of that dirt WAS poo...maybe that explains some of the poo attitudes of some people.

Does every single person on Yahoo! have to assume everything imaginable about other people from little or nothing?

And personally, I care more about what is true. If we were monkeys, I'd accept it. But so far, there is no evidence against it and a whole lot against us being apes.

And is it correct to think that you want to become dirt rather than live forever?

I don't get it, either. I'd rather be like a bonobo than a statue made of dirt.

No, that is not accurate. WE prefer to have faith in our creator and heavenly father. While you'd rather believe that this wonderful creation we live one came from chaos and destruction. Gee that's really intelligent. Everything just fell into perfect place after a huge bang. Right. Furthermore if you wish to believe you're an ape fine by me.

As for you "special-C" God created us in his image and He is not an ape.

Why didn't all chimpanzees evolve. Or do they have a choice, whether they want to evolve or not. Have a banana!

Scientists tell us that all of the substances in our bodies can be found in the ground.

You and I have an immortal soul; apes don't.
