I need help w/ getting closer to god. I can't go to church due to everything going on......so what should I do?

Pray to God, read your Bible, watch christian television and try to live right.

Maybe try a daily devotional. For me, if I try to read the Bible and start out in a huge way and read like 3 chapters a day, I get discouraged and almost quit altogether. I would say just try to read a few meaningful verses a day (preferably first thing in the morning), and a daily devotional. But most of all, talk to God. About things that concern you and your everyday life. Remember, if it's important enough to worry or concern you, it's important enough to pray about. And don't just pray about the bad things. Thank God for what He's gonna do. Do that every day. Hope this helped! God bless!

Pick up your Bible and choose some verses to memorize. Preferably something relating to that "everything going on" in your life.
Or find a good study, there are lots of online places to go to for free or low-cost studies of the Bible. Also, a bookstore will have some study materials as well.
Either way, get God's Word into you, so it can come out of you when you need it.

Becca C, I prayed directly to GOD,please send me a teacher to show me the truth. He did,he sent me a saint from india,he showed me that the only real church was inside me. Jesus thaught the same thing,the kingdom of God is within you. God has great saints in all religions and many with no religion. I believe you would LOVE the people at syda.org they will welcome you with Unconditional LOVE. ask for a center near you,they are all over the world. they do not "require" you to join.

Pray to God for help in getting to find him first, then getting to know him. Your prayer will be answered because John 17:3 says that it means everlasting life for you to take in knowledge of the one true God and of his son Jesus. You have to read the pages of the Bible to know the qualities that God has and how you are involved in an universal issue. Good luck in your searching.

If you want to be closer to God, than talk to him. Nothing will get you closer than having a personal relationship with Him.

PRAY, talk to Jesus throughout your day and ask for direction, read your Bible, get involved in a small group, find a new church, live like a Christian should live (avoid sin). Read John 15:10

Prayer's good but meditation(quieting your mind and listening) is the ultimate! Things in spirit world are much different than here so keep an open mind about what you will discover. There are all kinds of material explaining meditation but it does take practice and patience. God Bless

You don`t have time for God in Church ?? Maybe HE is waiting for you to show HIM that the things you say are keeping you from Church are not more important than HIM ?? If you don`t have HIM first in your life , then you won`t get close to HIM !!

Communicate with god. Talk to the creator about anything and everything if you wish and you will feel closer.
