Why would a so-called perfect god create a world of imperfection?

Assuming there were an all powerful, omnipotent, omniscient, god that decided it was going to create a 'world' (universe, cosmos, existence, what have you) would it even be possible for such perfection to be able to create inperfection? And why? If a 'perfect' being creates something imperfect, it makes itself imperfect by the very imperfect thing it has created.

"Everything in the world IS perfect, except humans."

-This might be one of the funnier statements I've ever seen on here.

theologically, G-d has no choice but to create nothing but imperfect things. the only thing that can possibly be perfect is G-d. therefore, if G-d was to create something perfect, he would in fact be replicating himself, and not creating. if G-d created a perfect world, then the world would be just as much G-d as he is. if G-d created perfect humans, then we ourselves would be G-d.

You assume that God made the evil. It is a false assuumption.

He pronounced everrything that He created as being "very good."

Think about another verse in the Bible that says that there is no sin without a law. God made the law but that law was violated by an angel; violation of the law is sin, and thus evil enters. Evil is not created by God.

I know that this might be a little above your comprehension,so let me give you a simple example. Without a law that limit the speed that we can drive, we would be allowed to drive as fast as we want to, and there would be nopenalties. Unfortunately, we do have laws that regulate the speed that we are allowed to drive, so when we exceed that upper limit, then we have violated that law and are guilty of breaking that law. However, if we do not exceed the upper limit, then we can drive as much as we want to without violating the law. It really is simple to to understand that God did not make the sin and evil that exists in this world, but He did make the people who have chosen to violate his law.

Not brilliant at all. If you read the Genesis account of creation it says that after each day of creation God said it was "good" The Hebrew for good meant "perfect" or "as it should be". So God did indeed creat the world perfect. Satan introduced imperfection into the world. On the day of judgment imperfection will be done away with in heaven as we who are His we join in reunion with Him in a relationship of perfection that existed before sin entered the world.

Right. But all you've ruled out is an all-powerful, all-knowing, all-good god. Mess with any of those characteristics and there's no more problem. Most revisionist theologians have taken that course. Process theologians reinterpret God's power; religious naturalists doubt that "God" is a sentient, personal being; C.G. Jung suggests that God has a "dark side." So you haven't demonstrated that God doesn't exist; you've just pointed up some of the problems with traditional theism. Other theisms are available as living options, however. And many of them you'd be hard-pressed to criticize effectively. For fun, you should read "Reenchantment Without Supernaturalism" by David Ray Griffin, a leading process theologian. You might be surprised. Or Henry Nelson Wieman's "Intellectual Foundation of Faith."

See, when you actually interact with intelligent, articulate believers who're willing to face facts, you'll find that all your petty fundy-baiting sh*t is really kind of lame, and only shows how little you actually know, and how little effort you've actually put into thinking about these questions.

all he created was initially perfect. the imperfection of man and the desire to sin is the cause of all the imperfections. to make ammends for these sins god sent us his son to give up his life for our imperfections, which is an act of true love. so when this world is said and done with we will be with the perfect ultimate being in his ultimate state of grace in heaven, provided we,of our own free will choose to follow and to love him. the alternative to this free will is to neglect him,sin and be in the most imperfect place which is hell. he doesn't send us there, man does it to himself.god can do anything perfect or imperfect, you answered your own question, if he is all powerful, omnipotent, omniscient then all things would therefore be possible through him.

Thats a very good question, I often wonder that myself and I wonder if maybe our perception of what exactly perfect is is correct. what does perfect mean exactly? and is God perfect in the sense we say He is? I can understand us being imperfect because of the fall into sin but your right how could perfection create imperfection? all I can say is we have it wrong, Gods perfection is not what we think it to be.

Maybe, because if you created something perfect, that in and of itself would most likely allow the freedom of imperfection. (something we seem to have allot of here on earth.) Hmmmmm

He can do ANYTHING HE WANTS. A perfect world would have bored Him to tears, doncha think??? So He created a world that has the potential to be pretty darn good, and filled it fulla atheists and Muslims just to see what would happen. C'mon, cut God some slack! What would you make if you had to look at it for 6000 years or so??? A "perfect world"?? Yea right, you wouldn't know a perfect world if it bit you in the @ss!!!

It is neither God nor his creation that is imperfect, but it is the temptation that man was and is weak too that is imperfect. God did not make sin. Sin is in the world because of Satan, the devil or whatever you want to call it. He was once an angel who was jealous of man and tried to over power God and was cast out of heaven. Since then he is on a mission to destroy man. His greatest trick was to make man believe he doesn't exist. This makes it easier for him further destroy man.

God didn't create a world of imperfection. It was perfect when he created it. It was the fall of man that brought about the imperfection.

Sorry, your logic doesn't hold water.
