This is an old, DUMB idea NOW. I think you could probably tell the school that your child does NOT have permission to go, and you might also threaten legal action against them - this will get their attention real fast as school budgets are stretched pretty tight. I don't oppose eating meat, but I no longer see the need for a student to see a slaughter house when the stuff on the news is just as graphic, if not more so. You have a valid point. Your child could "be sick" on that day if nothing else.

This will haunt some of the children... I highly suggest that those who do not want to see the death be allowed to NOT view it.

The boys will dwell on this long after the fact and pick on anyone who didn't want to see it...

You need to print this out and present it to your school head. This is a stupid idea... and the school should be interested in the child's frame of mind rather than life at a slaughter house!

Shame on them for not looking deeper into the psychological aspect of this !

Tell the school you don't want your daughter to go. Tell the school board how you feel. I'd raise hell about it. A slaughter house is no place for children.

Just don't sign the permission slip and your daughter will not participate. What ever happened to visiting state parks and museums?

I applaud your good question. But why TF did you use the numeral "1" in that question.

Is this school in the South?

Oh yeah, it is dumb to go there.
