Which has better benefits? I am talking to a Air Guard and Air Reserve recruiter and I was just wondering what do you all think would be the best choose? I aced the asvab and can get pretty much any job there is also.
I am in College right now but need some help with funding for school I understand all the other responsiblites that come along with joining and I accpet them.
I want to finish college so I can become an Officer, so once I get my B.S degree could I become an officer. I was also going to join the AFROTC when I got back for A.I.T. so how does that work if anyone has done it before being enlisted and trying to become an officer after you finish school.

You are most right in one thing. Get the education. Right now th emilitary needs cannon fodder and they get under paid. As an Officer you will more than double the salary of most recuits.
If you graduat form an acceptable college you will accepted as an office, andd og on to advanced training. (unless you run into such things as sickness, accident, peace or any unseen future event which would make you undesirabel or unfit to serve.
Right now i fyou had a University degree behind you your chaances faster always iomprov ein warrtime, but uinfortunately so does your chances ending up in the hereafter. I would htink the Air force would give you a better chance of advancement.

As a member of the Air National Guard, I'm prejudiced. I was out for 12 years and getting back in was one of the best things I ever did. Having served with Reserve people, I prefer the Guard approach. Historically Reserve has much closer ties to the active duty. This is changing, but as a degree'd Chief Master Sergeant I love the Guard. Most of the officers I work with are former enlisted people. Guard is family. Good luck and remember that it's all about attitude.

It is obvious that you want the "air" as opposed to the "gound", as in army or marines. Have you at least looked into something that most people do not even think of? The US Coast Guard Reserve? It is a very small operation compared to all other reserve units, but, IF this part of the Coast Guard still exists, they will be happy to have you. Also, the training there is likely to help you in civilian life, after discharge.

Stick with ROTC in college. When you graduate you can pick thr branch. The bennies are about the same. More important is the job you get. That will determine your rate of advancement.
