That's a decent plan. However, if you have a non-law-related interest, it might be better to have your 4 year major in another field. (Some examples: business, architecture, accounting, a foreign language, engineering).
Law schools don't necessarily want applicants to have a legal background. Having a paralegal degree and working as a paralegal can hurt you. A philosophy major (I have one) tends to cause you to think through things in a certain way, which may be similar to the way a law school might teach you to think, but, since a law school wants you to emerge as a lawyer in their own mold, they may not want you to have the philo major.
Also, the other fields of study might give you an edge for jobs after graduation.
I don't see the year off as a problem...I've known folks who have done just that, particularly in Manhattan. If you consider p/t law school, make sure the school you're considering offers evening classes. Believe it or not, the law school in my area has a p/t program, but classes are daytime only!

It really sounds like an excellent plan! Might be an idea to pick up a minor degree in something you want to specialize in while in law school or work in after graduating from law school. Also, if there is the choice of paralegal electives, take the ones that would relate to your specialty too. I mention this because it can help you get some experience in the specialty field if possible before law school which could make it a bit better in law school and possibly beyond law school graduation.

it is good you are planning i suggest
community college to get paralegal degree work part time in this field, [what does major philosophy fit in a law career, ] take course more directed to law and go to law school while working part time as paralegal...[not good idea taking alot of time between courses, you lose study habits and energy.

you're putting the blame interior the incorrect place. The blame is going to the oil agencies. no person compelled them to develop the gas value. could I blame invoice Clinton because of the fact I used to pay .36c a gallon? NO, that's all of the oil agencies doings and now Congress is going to handle the subject WITH THE OIL agencies. in case you think of that's undesirable here, attempt going to England and notice how lots you pay.

You must be crazy if you think you can plan your life in advance like that as if it were some sort of script. Just take it one year at a time.
