i think it is ok to meet someone over the internet. just a bring along a chaperon with you when you finally decided to see personally. be extra careful though... just get to know him first over the internet or chat.

While I know that MANY folks choose this way of "dating", I find it all a bit scary... I'm sure that there are so many "happy endings" to SOME of the attempts, however, it seems that ppl today are just all too phony and it's easy to put up a good front. What about all of those freaks out there in cyber world that hunt down innocent minded ppl for unthinkable acts? It's simply not worth the risk in my book!

Yes I think you can meet your match on the internet. But just like any relationship you have to get to know the person. You also have to be cautious....if the person does not tell you much about themselves beware.

I think its ok to talk to them and get to know them and then meet them in a area where you have lots of support should something not go right.
