Ok I have an 11 month old German Shephered, Labrador Retriever, and Chow Chow mix puppy. He is way too hyper and a little too difficult to train. He has a neutering appointment this Friday morning at 8. I told him this nice and slow, and about neutering, he was fine till I finished, he immediatley put his head down and gave me a sad look. Did he understand me?

N he didn't understand "neutering." But he probably understood that something was making you sad. Nobody really likes doing that to their pet, even though it might be for the best.

maybe if you were feeling sad about it. Dogs understand when their families are not happy. He will be ok, its good to neuter your pets, you're helping by keeping unwanted puppies out of the pound.

Nah... dogs don't really get it.. a week after they are neutered they completely forget and are back to their normal selves.. but good for you for neutering your dog!

dogs do not know what neutering is. Maybe the sadness(if there was any) in your voice may have made him sad.

sometimes it seems like they do but not really.
they either felt your emotion
or
he knows some words like appointment or vet so he got sad.

thats funny! doubt is though but dogs pick up on your senses, mine knows when im sad maybe he picked up on your "message"

he probabaly just knew the tone of your voice. he will be fine though and more happy
