Cat that have an oral fixation like licking, in many cases, were weaned too early. The good news is that this is a sign of affection...the bad news is that anyone that is allergic to cat saliva ( people are allergic to cat saliva, not cat fur / dander ), will probably suffer as a result. lol! I know what you mean, I can't pet my female cat without getting a bath first. My male cat doesn't care, but she is a tough one to pet. The fun is in the challenge.

I hope you find out the reason for this! My kittens, 3 of them survived...all of them lick my toes just like my dog does. I don't know if this is some learned behavior to just get my attention or if they saw my dog do it. But one of them also rears up on his haunches and wants me to scratch him behind the ears.
