doctors work very long hours and tend to be very tired on off days. If you eat, sleep and live at a hospital-I think its kind of a fishbowl for dating. Also at hospitals, doctors are pretty clueless about patients -if not well briefed by nurses-so I think its also a mothering thing.

You tend to get close to those people you see every day. It's not just doctors and nurses.Your work is a big part of your life, and sharing that with others can lead to relationships away from work.

As you get out of school and into the working world, it has been my experience that you oftentimes end up dating people who have similar backgrounds as yourself. Busy people don't necessary have time outside of work to meet people, so why not meet someone where you work? Or with whom you have a lot in common? (in this, hopefully, a passion for people.)

Many doctors spend more time with their nurses than they do with their wives. CHEMISTRY comes into play.
