ok, so this new Elmo is the hot item. They retailed in stores (now all out of stock) for $39.99. For fun I looked it up on ebay. These suckers are selling for upwards of $100! Is it just me or is this insane? Not just for parents to spend that kind of cash on their kids, but for others taking advantage of people?

Opinions, please!

I totally agree I am a mother of 5 and I have never bought one of these stupid things because after your kid gets it they look at it for maybe a week then it gets thrown in the toy box with everything else and forgotten about and these people selling them they are just scumbags in my opinion because there are people out there that can't afford to pay alot and want to make there child happy and get this for them but they cant because they are sold out due to these jerks buying so many of them all at once.

I saw the Elmo TMX videos on the net and they're nothing too special. All Elmo does is laugh maniacally and fall over, get back up, and fall over again when you touch it. My little brother loves Elmo but I don't think he's crazy about it. My mom wants me to get it for him for Christmas, so I guess why not.

Unfortunately, there are people who are willing to pay that kind of price for a stuffed animal, how are they going to feel after Christmas when you will be able to buy one at Walmart on sale!?!

The only reason these things are sold out everywhere is because people are buying them 5 at a time hoping to make a buck on ebay.

It is stupid! Especially because after Christmas you will see tons of them at regular price. I remember when I was young and the same thing happened with Cabbage Patch Dolls when they first came out.

I would urge people not to fall into the craze. Those dolls will be in the trash regardless in due time.

That is just crazy. I got one for my son for just 29.99. Just wait.. they will be all over again soon once the craze has died down.
