Unpaid bills of any sort go on your credit report. Once a doc or hospital turns you over you have a lot more trouble on your hands than if you had dealt with it before. Call your doc or hospital and explain your situation. I used to bill for a doc and I would have people paying $5 per month on $2500 bills. If they paid consistently and never missed I never bothered them and I let them continue seeing the doc. If you get in too much debt you'll not only be reported to a collection agency, you'll be dropped as a patient.

yes, they will go to collections and after that they will show up on a credit report for a long time. most creditor won't send you to collections if there is some kind of activity on the account. pay at least $5 to $10 a month. keep communicating with them too.

Quicker than ever. Pay it on time! Please! I was hit with a forgotten ER $100.00 bill. I did not see it until I did a free credit check. I paid the collection agency, but stay on them and the credit bureau to make sure they they report it as paid. I'm still trying to get it corrected. Been over 7 mths now.

They do, but I really could care less. Health care is outrageous, and when you need treatment, you need treatment.
I have heard they also look for unpaid bills as a sign someone in family uses alot of health insurance; so maybe wouldn't want to hire you and put you on their insurance plan.

you bet it shows up, pay the darn things, call the doctors and hospitals and tell them you have very little money, and need to do this on very low time payments, it may take the rest of your life, but also they might be willing to cut down the bill to get the stuff paid off.
