Pray from your heart. Remember, you are not praying to be noticed by man, but to be heard by God. A simple, honest prayer is beautiful when it comes from your heart. Good luck!

Writing out a small prayer will help. Make it simple and to the point. Don't try to be too flowery. The more you pray in a public setting the easier it gets.Don't worry what others think of your prayer. You're talking to God. He loves hearing from you.

It is not how you pray, but what you pray. Martin Luther commented, "It does not matter whether we stand, kneel or lie prostrate or lift up our eyes to heaven...all these are external matters...one should pray only with the heart."

ASK. First of all ask that your will might be conformed to God’s will even as Jesus prayed to his father, "May your will be done" (Matthew 26:42).

SEVEN THINGS TO ASK YOURSELF EACH TIME YOU PRAY.

1) Will the thing that I am praying for meet my Godly personal needs and will it fit in with a just and righteous life style, or is it superfluous and just born of the flesh?
2) Am I being submissive to God's will, and will I gladly accept what ever God is willing to give me, if anything. Is your spirit one of absolute submission to his will? Can you say, not my will Father, but let your will be done?
3) If my prayer is answered will the result honor God?
4) Will it harm or hurt someone else or will it interfere in another person's life?
5) Will it please God. Will what you pray for delight God?
6) Does my request contradict or conflict with the Word of God in anyway.
7) Will it further my spiritual growth. Will what I pray for bring me/others closer to God?

TRUST. Be comforted and confident. Jesus has promised us, "And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the father" (John 14:13). The Lord will always answer our prayers in the way that is best - for us, for others, for his own honor.

I hope that this helps you with your prayer at the pole! God Bless!

Public prayer can be daunting. But just try to remember who you're praying to. Talk to Him just like you'd talk to your best friend. Speak from your heart. Yes, I know stage fright has a lot to do with it, but that's just something you'll have to conquer on your own. Practice in front of a mirror. And at night, when you're saying your night prayers, pray for strength to pray in public.

Just pray what is in your heart at the end of the silent prayer part.

Pray for the school, nation, for the kids, and let the Holy Spirit lead you. It is scary to pray in front of others. Don't be repetitive in what you say. Pray before you go, and have the Lord help you.

oh that's so awesome! I'm going too, but I'm not doing the prayer or anything. Just say something along the lines of thank you lord for everyone that is here today to worship you on our campus, and bless our country and our school. Just say the things you really care about and you'll be fine.

I have never prayed in pubilc either, i get too scarred. If u pray in public it is a great thing to accomplish. after u do it once u wont be scarred anymore. i need to hurry up and do it to, Just pray what you would normaly pray. Just be like "Dear Heavanly Father, Thank you for this beautiful day and the people you have brought togather to stand up for your name and pray in public to their Lord and Savior. Be with our Pres. and our Country." you know stuff like that. Pray from the heart whatever comes to your mind.. You will do fine. I will pray for you!

Just relax and talk to God like you normally would. If it will make you feel better you can write your prayer out ahead of time. Don't try to be fancy , Just be yourself. There is a reason why you were chosen.
