oh my gosh, i used to have the same problem! since then i have had medium length hair and then i grew it out again and now it is medium length again. but i have found that really, no matter the lenth there are at least three things you can do to long hair without getting it cut. My all time favorite is the classic side part, with just a low ponytail. it sounds very simple but i see it on so many girls and its really a popular hairstyle that amazingly works well on long hair (wet or dry). Another is Cornrows. Sounds a little weird but with five minutes, its a wonderful alternative to a braided ponytail. Don't do lots of cornrows, just maybe three or four at the crown of your head and not all the way to the nape of your neck, just about halfway back.
*Part hair in neat one inch strips
*Select one section and gently pull product to the ends
*Twist hair and roll under while moving toward back
*Clip end securely
*Spray with light holding spray
Again, cornrows can be done with wet or dry hair! The third idea for long hair styling in a short amount of time is to wash your hair the night before and put it in a few different braids then leave them in overnight...i know, i know, its a little risque, but this old school style of crimped hair is more widely accepted today and has become more fashionable in recent years. Its so quick, you barely have to do anything in the morning and you can braid your hair the night before while unwinding in front of the TV after the kids are in bed.
well, i hope this helps and i hope you find my suggestions a little more friendly than some of the other comments posted on here. Good Luck!

Not to sound mean but plain long hair sounds boring. Bite the bullet. Take the plunge. Get a shorter layered style. Long hair takes too long to dry & style. Who has time for that? I have short & spiky hair. Once I got over the initial shock I loved it. Wished I'd done it years ago. I put a squirt of really good styling gel into my palms & rub it in any old way. Don't even need to dry it if I don't want to. On some days I use the curling iron. Some days I slick the bangs over & put a small clip in. It usually takes about 4 or 5 minutes. Try it! Hair grows back!

Read carefully,
all you need for this hairstyle are:
a glass of wine, pair of scizzors, maybe a mirror and some balls.
Step 1: Chug Wine
Step 2: Scratch Balls
Step 3: Grab hair in left hand
Step 4: Hold scizzors in right hand
Step 5: Cut that shite off
Step 6: Donate it to Locks of Love
Step 7: Hold the mirror up for the little girl or boy with a new beautiful head of hair.

There's ways to dress up hair that's long and thick - combs, clips, flowers - remember it's currently boho and anything goes season in terms of fashion!
Can you wear it out at all?
I'd just tie it back and let it do it's own thing Or if wanting different, start buying some good quality wigs and then just go crazy with them :D
Hope I've helped somehow.

My best advice would be to cut it. You can't do much else, but put it in a pony tail, or what you stated before. It doesn't seem like it has any style at this length. When the hair is too long, it just looks blah.

what you can do, is put it into a messy bun, like a bun, but not perfect. a messy bun is fun, and it looks really cute. but, your hair may be too long to do it, i'm not sure... but what would look really cute is if you actually got it cut, till about a little bit above the middle of your torso. thatd look cute, so you can do all the hairstyles you like, and even leave it down without blow drying it or doing anything to it.

you could visit a elegance salon and clarify that you want your hair thinned. they are going to use this particular scissors that has like a comb interior it and that could actually help your hair no longer be so thick. I truly have the same project. yet i spend better than an abode straightening mine. :[ wish that facilitates!

Yes, it's called a wardrobe of pony tail holders! Time for a change, or time to go hair-tie shopping!
