Popular history says that spaghetti was invented in China, and that Marco Polo brought the knowledge of this food to Venice. It's actually a tough question, because the "spaghetti" that Marco Polo probably tasted was probably made from either rice flour or hard wheat flour (long noodles made from both grains exist in eastern cookery). The current thought of logic is that the Italians expanded on the taste, which is probably accurate, given that the word "vermicelli" comes from the Italian word for the "thin worms" which it resembles. And from that came the earliest "industrial" production of the product. Hope that helps.

Spaghetti is Italian, yet noodles is chinese. Marco Polo traveled on the Silk street to Asia and talked about that they were ingesting noodles. So, he loved the way it regarded and tasted(i imagine) and then he went lower back to Italy with the idea of spaghetti. i'm no longer particular of all this, yet i wish this helped you!

it was invented by the chinese and i think magellen or was his name magellan discovered it &brought it to Italy along with the tomato.
