Yes. I agree. If we are constantly seeking the companionship of the Holy Spirit (to be close to God) we will overcome evil.

Well, I don’t really see where the question lies, but I do have this to say; not everything that is good draws you closer to god; chocolate ice cream dose not draw you closer to god.

No, I think we are drawn closer to God when we are in desperate situations and seemingly beyond any mortal help. As the old saying goes, " there are no atheists in foxholes". On the other hand,to overcome our weaknesses, and many of them are evil (such as gluttony and Pornography) we turn to God to help us avoid them.We seem to be drawn away from God when everything seems to be going good.

relationship with God is what draws you to him.
true relationship will entice you to be the best person you can be. the closer you get to Him, the more you will desire to accomplish His will in your life.
Free will is what draws you nearer or farther away....
when you choose to walk appart from your relationship with Him you retreat farther away from Him and thus it becomes easier to justify actions that aren't in line with God's will.
Love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and love your neighbour as yourself - that's all He asks.

Good and evil are human constructs. To me, "Good" is that wich brings benefit to as much of humanity as possible, while "Evil" is that which drags us backward into superstition and barbarism.

God doesn't exist. It's an illusion to comfort people.
To answer your question, I will take one of Albert Einstein's quotes-
"Morals are completely man-made."
They are.
