Actually colleges (especially the Ivy Leagues) are actively RECRUITING homeschooled kids, because they know these kids are very well off with their educations. Also, more often than not, homeschooled kids have a very active volunteering life, which as most people know, colleges look for.

It depends on the school. As stated some actively recruit since homeschooled students are usually academically stronger and more responsible students, serious about an education. Others won`t look at one without the SAT score that is acceptable. There are homeschooling Associations, such as Elizabeth Seton which has such a good reputation for tough academic demands that almost all universities snatch their grads up....they do up your transcript because they mark your work. In Canada there it is more difficult since homeschooling is still 10 years behind the states. My daughters are both in university, one had to do a semester at a high school to show she was capable...she actually got a scholarship...the other started at an associated college and finished a program at the top of her class...the university was then tripping over itself to get her to come to their school.

Universities have entrance standards. If you can meet those standards, you can enroll in that university.
If the homeschool program you are speaking of was completed under the auspices of an accredited school, there should be no problem with college or university admissions.

Harvard University, MIT, and Stanford all actively seek homeschoolers as applicants for their Freshman classes.

Some do, others don't. I guess you have to find that one out for yourself. Most colleges will either make you take the ACT or a test of their own just to make sure that you are "smart enough"(as I like to say).

I think that colleges aren't absolutely happy about home schoolers, but then many people aren't,but I believe that they do allow home schoolers in if they pass tests, just like anyone else.I think your friend should just focus on acing the tests at college, thus showing them that home schoolers are smart.they'll let your friend in the same way as everyone else.

it depends on the college....like i know the big rep schools do, but i dont think state universities and stuff like that care where you went to school.
