I really want them in homeschool, I do not feel that they will lack the social skills because i will be putting them in other activitys and they will learn that way. why put them in public school where they will learn bad people skills from other childern and can only learn what the schools and government want the kids to learn, School doesnt teach them real life skills such as how to handle money and family problems, and all the other things that one will learn. Yes I do want them to learn the basics and more....History, science, and Math....but why limit them to just that

dont limit it to "just that!" ok, the world is their class room, right? first, get with the HSLDA. Home school legal defense association. do it now!!!!! otherwise social services could make your life hell. I know, they did mine. I support homeschooling 110%. i did so with mine, and they are ahead of their peers intellectually. ahead in some areas, behind on some, but I hear nothing but good about them from ppl who come in contact with them. get with the basics, get with a good umbrella school, and get to the library, and check out some books on homeschooling. there is one I loved, called " unschooling your kid" or something like that. It had "unschooling" in the title. Go to school supply stores, and get some workbooks, and go from there. Good luck, and really, go to the HSLDA,and you can type it in like that , or hslda.com, and go from there. for about 10$ a mo. you will cover your butt and social services can't touch you. Teachers don't like homeschoolers, cuz it takes from their pocket,as they get paid per kid in their class. well, anyways good luck!

1) check with the local superintendent to find out what your state and county requires
2) start researching about weather or not you want to home school, unschool or both. - the local library and places like pennywise learning, and alpha omega publishers and Saxon are good places to start (all on-line)
3) find local home school group in your area to meet with a nd find resources...it is also a good way to get field trip groups together
4) the bonding time you have with your child will be valuable beyond measure
5) also by home schooling you have more time opportunities for music, art, foreign language lessons, gymnastics, sports and so many other subjects that traditional school don't offer!

I have been homeschooling my 12 year old for 7 years and he can interact with children and adults of all ages and in all situations. I homeschool my 4 year old and he is 2 years beyond the standard grade level (one-on-one tutoring) and my new born is always around as the boys learn their lesson so she is always exposed as well. I am a sociologist and my children and I do more than Math, Reading and Writing. We talk about world politics, social inequalities, running a successful house and family, social responsibility, and so much more!

Try researching Home Study International. They have a pre-K through 12th grade program that is accredited...which means you can enroll in a traditional school at any point... including college. I work at a private high school and have had many kids come to us with their homestudy work done through HSI. They are usually smarter than the kids that went through a traditional system...but you will have to make sure your kids are socialized through other group activities. Good luck! If you have the time to devote to homestudy it is not a bad way to go!

we are in a lot the same boat. I truly have the degree in English/regulation and he has the degree is technological awareness/mathematics. looks that your in-regulations are telling you that, inspite of a school degree, they imagine you're too stupid to handle first grade textile. truly? college graduates are unable to positioned around the intricacies of "cat," "sat," and "mat" to their offspring? The complexities of unmarried and double-digit addition and subtraction are out of their determination? Cardinal guidelines and ordinal numbers are merely too frustrating for the degreed ideas to understand? How lifelike does that look to YOU? i'm also somewhat amused by lots of the somewhat knowledgeable extreme-schoolers who widespread the board and attempt to dissuade you from homeschooling. they are riddled with straightforward spelling and grammar mistakes, and frequently teach the psychological agility of a small cleansing soap dish. choose i ought to locate my party at present, yet apparently like i have lost it for now. something about "count your university oppotnites will be limmited, so i say no." that style of project. I say attempt a mode of issues. I say artwork with what looks the finished better healthful which includes your youngster. I say that one length would not better healthful all, and the biggest present you promises your youngster is the danger to locate a situation the position he can bloom in his self assurance and education. For some childrens it truly is homeschooling, for different childrens that is deepest or public college, and for others it will be a mixture of all the above. (thus far we've tried homeschooling and combining homeschooling and private.) None of those judgements are written in stone, and also you could honestly hunt round and attempt some issues in the previous you commit your self to at least one course or yet another. enable for evolution as he receives older. What works in early straightforward may no longer artwork once he receives older. Or once you bypass. Or, or, or. :)

It really depends on the state you live in. Contact your local school board and see what requirements they have for homeschooling your children. I know in GA all you need is ahigh school education to home-school up through 8th grade and then they have to attend public schools for high school. I home school my kids too. Go for it, it is very rewarding.

Well do public school unless you want your kid to have no confidence, and not talk to anyone. Homeschooling stunts your children of life, and social skills!
