Our cat used to talk to us. She was very social. I do believe that animals communicate with us.

yes, all day long.. She my cat (Dicie May) woke me up at 545 this morning very loud meow's,, I let her go outside when the sun finnaly rose this morning about 630. I then fed her and meow..meow, meow, she was very vocal. Then an half hour she was ready for bed. Everytime she moves or jumps she meows, Everytime I come home its meooooooooooow.. attention needed now please....and she meows when she is playing with socks, she even hisses at toys that she is playing with as she back kicks them. I love that she talks alot..She will even meow and love bit me if she thinks I am paying too much attention to anything else but her. I love my vocal kitty and wouldnt trade her or her behavior for the world.

My husband thinks I'm a crazy lady for this. My cats and I talk. I say something to them, in a normal conversation-like way. And they'll meow back like they're answering me. And what's really funny is when they do it in a very non-challant (sp?) way like we're just having casual conversation.
What's even funnier than that is when it's treat time...I'll say, WHO WANTS A TUMMY YUMMY? (which drives my husband insane because he says I sound like an idiot..hehehe) Anyway, all of them will come running and meow at me. So when theyr'e all around waiting for the plate to come down, I'll say for example, "Henry, are ya hungry?" And only Henry will answer with a long meooooow. . Or to Lilly..."LillyPad, want food?" And only she answers me..."Meow"
OMG....i HAVE BECOME the crazy cat lady!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hehehe..I guess it's just a matter of time before I keep chicken livers in my pocket! lmao

Tika can be very chatty when she wants attention. She has a 'feed me' meow that's like a demand, a 'pet me' meow that's very soft and a 'chirp' meow that means thank you...she also has a 'rrrow' which is her way of saying 'I love you' and a 'question' meow when she wants to know what I'm doing or what certain objects, sounds, or smells are.

My one cat is a bit feral. He gives this high-pitched growl when he's mad. He also meows at me when I sneeze or cough,,,like I'm annoying him by making noise.
My other cat never quite learned how to meow properly. He makes this noise that sounds like a little old man grumbling to himself while walking down the street. Its so cute.

my kittens are leash trained so every time i head out the door they think they are going too. when i close the door on them they meow until i open the door and pet them both. then they run off and play.
if i go to another room in the house and they don't see me they go around meowing until i call their names. they both know what their names are. then they come running and sit at my feet until i pet them. they are very touchy, feely kittens. their so cute!!
only my 7 week old kitten meows when i hold and pet him all the while purring his fool head off. lol. my girl kitty only purrs, VERY LOUDLY when i hold her. i've never heard a kitten purr that loud.
so they say good-bye and they say hello and i love you and where are you? and other than that they are very quiet. the weirdest thing is they never meow for food. only affection.
good day.

Definitely, and she has different meows to suit her purpose. She has a leave me alone meow, play with me meow, pet me meow, and a growl and a hiss. She doesn't have a problem with her limited communication- as far as she sees it, I'm the one with the problem.

I have had 9 cats over the last 20 years and all of them have been vocal to some degree. The better your relationship is with them and the more they feel secure, you will be more and more likely to hear their little voices as they work to get closer to you!
