God sets the path - it's up to us to stay on the right road. if you hide away and never allow yourself to be seen, you would never marry. if you jump into a marriage without God and a firm committment before God, you may soon find yourself single.

God gave us free will. We make choices that God didn't want for us. He has plans for our lives, but He will not force us to do anything we don't want to. I will give you an example. I wanted to get married so bad, but I didn't ask God what He wanted. I chose my husband, and he was not a Christian. He decided he wanted other women. while I was pregnant with our 2 nd child. He didn't want me any more. I have been living in MI for the past 15 years. If I had asked God who He wanted for me, and waited on God. My children and I would not be without a husband and father in our lives. I do not date nor will I because I am still married. I believe we do chose our way of life if we are not depending on God, and prayer.

Regarding biblical literature on marriage vs single, check out the article via the url below; I googled it and found it quite interesting. I've pasted part of the article along with the url for those interested.

I believe that God has a plan and it is in action. He knew His plan before He created anything. He has specific needs for some of us and these needs are completed during our life.

He's so brilliant He's Incorporated our free will choices, He gave us, as part of life's plan unfolding.

You know you're a part of it when you feel good inside when you are kind, gracious, helpful - basically "good to one another".

In Jeremiah 29, God says that he knows the plans that He has for our lives. So, yes God does have a plan and a purpose for every single person on this earth. But, the thing of it is that He is a gentleman and He is not going to force you to do anything. His word says that He will give you the desires of your heart if you lean on him and trust in him. So, you have to make a decision to do that. And yes, if it's your heart's desire to be married and you are doing things His way, He will give you that desire. Not to mention, the bible also says that He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we can think or ask. So, doing things God's way guarantees that things will be better for you than you can even imagine. LOL!

i agree and i disagree here. god walks with us helps us and sometimes intervens but only if we ask and we serve him . we have free will and he will let us fall if we chose to jump . we are born with many different trails we can take and choices can really change our lives . i belieave theres one person god knows will be our best match and we usually meet this person but wether or not we chose them is up to us . god dosent play matchmaker . he loves us and wants us to be happy but he knows whats best and also right . if you leave god alone he stands on sidelines and watches as you go threw relationship after relationship until you beg him plz help me then he jumps in and helps just like nothing had ever happend . trust god and put him right in the middle of any relationship you have and youll find that the bad ones go running and the good ones never leave you .

No I don't think that God exerts that kind of control.

God sets the parameters and we make our choices within those limits.

All choices eventually lead us back home to God, but some paths are far more difficult than others.

Yes, everyones end dertermination has been set. However, your reason for being on this earth is to fulfill the purpose God has put you here for be it good or bad. However, if you are born of the spirit of Jesus Christ, you will follow in his steps. For many are called but few are choosen.

I hope this helps GodBless!!!!!

No, God does not determine that. We do. You don't HAVE to marry, nor do you need not marry. The Pharisees asked Jesus this very question in regards to not marrying...

Mathew 19:12

12 For there are eunuchs who were born thus from their mother's womb, and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He who is able to accept it, let him accept it."

Further, we are made to be man and wife and marry, but again, it is not predetermined nor expected if it is not for you.

God gave us life, it is up to us to put our faith in him. We pray to him for guidance and protection and blessings and forgiveness and so much more. What we pray and prayers answered....that is what determines all the details of our lives. The rest is just aimless.
