Vicodin is the brand name for a combination of hydrocodone and acetaminophen.Generally, there are few long term side effects other than addiction.Long term effects are as follows:
**Addiction - Vicodin is an opiate which is addictive.
**Liver damage may result in long term use due to toxic effect of acetaminophen.
**Over time acetaminophen can damage ones kidney-slowly reducing the ability to function. This is by regular use over many years.
**There may be an anti-depressant effect if pain is prevented since pain does cause depression. .

Vicodin, Is 'Codine' It is a Narcotic,In O.d cases, I will cause respratory depress, and affect the Liver. Long term use will lead to addiction,, Codine should only be used for Maximum 2 weeks.
