Why do you think it's necessary to limit yourself to 35 grams a day? You sounds like you are eating healthy. Sugars to avoid are refined white sugar, brown sugar (it's just white sugar with coloring) and high fructose corn syrup (which is in a WHOLE lot of things - read labels). The sugar content of fruits is processed more slowly by the body than refined sugar, and overall fruit is VERY wholesome and good for you. Don;t avoid fruit!
However, DO avoid all artificial sweeteners. Most are dangerous to your health, and all simply set you up to crave more sweets.

Trust me, it's not impossible...I've done Atkins and the first 2 wks on it you cannot have over 20 grams per day...having said that, it's not a diet I'd recommend for many people.
Stay away from refined sugar, sucrose, corn syrup, etc. If you're going to get sugar it's better to get it naturally from fruit or milk...not all sugar bad, but it doesn't really have any redeeming qualities either (other than helping our food taste better).

relies upon on how a lot you're putting on it. The oatmeal itself would pose a project through carbs. what percentage carbs in line with meal has your well being practitioner cautioned for you? Do you attempt your sugar in the previous and after nutrients? if so, you'll comprehend if the oatmeal with sugar is an argument for you or no longer. The glucometer is an exceedingly sensible gizmo to inform you precisely how meals effect you - use it! attempt your sugar a million - 2 hours after ingesting breakfast (or the different meals that would reason a project) and word in case you sugar continues to be interior of everyday limits.

Stay away from substitutes! There is one food that has never change in size, or portion serving...The grain of natural sugar. Sugar is not bad for you. Large amounts (like anything) is. Stay as close to natural on all food you eat, you'll be just fine. Remember as well sugar is easier to burn then carbs

Most doctors know very little about proper nutrition. Yours is a perfect example. Cow's milk is for baby cattle... period. It has way too much fat, the proteins are potentially harmful and can cause things like asthma and juvenile diabetes, and, as you mentioned, has too much sugar. Plus, it doesn't have enough iron and is linked to breast cancer. I've found a few doctors who have looked into why the conventional western diet is causing things like obesity (and all the problems that go along with it), diabetes, colon cancer, and plenty of other horrible diseases. Diabetes and obesity are at epidemic proportions here in the US and other so-called advanced countries. Why are these diseases practically non-existent in the rural parts of Asian countries? You guessed it, their diet. Lots of vegetables, whole grains, fresh fruits, very little meat and dairy, and the meat they do eat is mostly chicken or fish. You can check out more by skimming through some of the links below having to do with diet. I put this list together for diabetics, but it works for anyone who wants to be really healthy. You'll want to pay particular attention to the drmcdougall.com link below....
For type I and type II diabetics (and those who are overweight and could potentially become diabetic). Copy and bookmark the webpages I‘ve listed below… they are invaluable for those with diabetes and/or weight problems...
I've found a wonderful book that will help you control your diabetes and minimize or even eliminate the complications. Some folks who became diabetic due to poor diet and obesity are effectively cured by following the advice in this book. I'm a type II (inherited), but it helps all types, especially those who became diabetic due to poor eating habits. It's by an author who has really done his homework, Patrick Quillin, Phd. It's called, "The Diabetes Improvement Program". I have tried his suggestions and found them to be very helpful. I have no complications whatsoever and my blood sugar levels are quite stable. Yes, I still have to take Metformin (Glucophage) daily, but it's the minimum dosage (500mg) and I only have to take it twice a day. I have been off Metformin for as much as a week, but this was with vigorous exercise. Many, what I call, non-hereditary type IIs (those that don't have a close relative who had it) have gotten off medication completely, just with diet, exercise, and supplements. So, in some instances, it most certainly can be 'effectively' cured. Read more about it here:

The book explains what's going on in our system and what to do about it. It's really easy and inexpensive. It's basically diet, supplements, and exercise. For example, did you know that cinnamon helps blood sugar absorption? It also controls cholesterol and triglycerides. This is according to the USDA:

For men: Are you suffering from erectile dysfunction? I was. Yes, WAS. Now that everything's under control, I'm able to have nearly normal sex again. I've also put together a little webpage highlighting some of the things I've learned here:

Why do you limit yourself to that? Me, I don't watch what I eat. I just eat whatever looks good. Thankfully, I like some healthy foods like carrots and potatoes.
