i've gotten that every once in a while... i was told it was my chest muscles cramping up. kinda feels like you cant breathe for a few seconds, then it kinda goes away.

As you said chest not breast Its just growing pains, Muscles & bones dont always grow in co'ordination. If you are female then it could be due to pre mentruation that cause sore breasts

Are you male or Freamle? At your age some females experience "growing pains" when the breast are growing and stretching muscle skin etc...
