How can you learn to control stress eating habits. Is there anything I can do myself, without seeking professional help. Any ideas?

I used to binge whenever i feel stressed. After some times, i realized the effect it had on me. Then, a friend advised me to shift my focus to something else like sewing or cross-stitching. It helped actually. Whenever i sew, i imagined myself weaving my problem through that thread. And i tend to relax myself. When the stressed is over, i feel better..
