Were both of your parents there?

Born in a hospital, was actually due on the 1st of September.. . Mom finally gave birth to me on Oct. 15th... somewhat overdue. :) Parents were both there.. and happy, Dad painted on the house "it's a girl!" and the newspapers took pictures. :)

The story of my birth is a family favorite. I am the oldest grandchild so my birth was a big event. The day my mom went into labor, the entire family knew. We lived in Chicago, my family lived on the Minisota border in Wisconsin. My grandparents came 8 hours off their dairy farm to be there for the event. My dad was out in the waiting area. In those days the fathers weren't allowed in the delivery room. But my grandma, being who she was, wouldn't hear of being cubbyholed in the waiting room. she barged right it to be with my mom. By then my mom was in heavy labor. It's to be noted my mom has zero pain tollerance. She was making a huge stink about the pain and my grandma just rolled her eyes and told her "oh, shut up and get it over with. I did this eight times. It ain't so bad. Quit being such a baby."
I was born at 9:05 pm October 9, 1968. Yes, not only were both my parents thwere but just about everyone in our family too that was at that time alive or able, this includes both sets of grandparents, 6 aunts 3 uncles (this number also includes my dad's brother, so my math is not off), 2 great grandparents.

I was born in the hospital, but the time I was born in 1968, they did not let the father in the room. Things have changed so much now.

I was born in a hospital and three days later it closed. My mother was a nurse there so they kept it open for her to have me and then closed it. I was the last child born there.

hospital, only my mom & grandma- dad is a dead beat.
I've seen home births they seem more painful, you'll want something for the pain when you have a baby. hopfull not too soon.
