Before you first drink, drink 1 tall glass of water and get some food in your stomach.
After every.. 3 drinks or so drink another glass of water
At the end of the night stay up long enough to sober up while drinking water, eating a few crackers. Ibuprofin is great before bed and when you wake up because it reduces the swelling in your head.
A drink I always drink when I am hung over is called, "Emergen-C" sold at GNC for 13 bucks for 36 packs. It tastes pretty okay and has lots of vitamins for you.
If this doesn't work, try drinking less in a night. You really can only get so drunk before you either throw up or pass out (Neither is desirable)

Beer and wine are good hangover givers so stay away from them. When I am drinking mixed drinks I ask for "top shelf" of whatever alcohol is in the drink I am drinking. It costs more but you are less likely to get a hangover than if you have drinks made with cheap alcohol. Bottom line is if you drink too much of anything you will get a hangover. A few of the things that help are to eat before you drink and do not mix drinks like a margarita then a long island, then a screwdriver, etc. Also, if you do have a hangover in the morning drink either tomato juice or V-8 and eat a little something. That works wonders. Sometimes I even have a blood mary in the morning for a hangover. Good Luck

Tons of water after you're finished with the alcohol. Most of the hangover comes from being dehydrated because alcohol makes the kidneys go full-blast. (If you're interested, it's because the body normally slows the kidneys down by releasing a hormone that makes them not suck water out of your blood so fast, but alcohol breaks this hormone down. So presto -- water is being slurped out of your system at warp speed. Which also explains why they say you don't buy beer, you only rent it...)
Before you leave the bar, have a big glass -- 16 oz or more -- of water. When your designated driver gets you home, have another. And then as you roll (or by now, slosh) into bed, have a third, and take two or three Advil with it. Yes, you will wake up at 3 AM with an urgent, painful need to hit the bathroom (my wife says this doesn't prevent a hangover, it just makes you have to deal with it when you wake up to pee in the middle of the night). And yes, you may have a headache at that time (if so, and if it's been more than three or four hours, take two more Advil). But by the time you need to get out of bed for real, you'll be feeling a lot less awful.

When you get home have something to eat, and drink 2L of water before you go to bed.
Ice Coffee is also Good, and have you ever heard of Charcoal Tablets, take one of those when you wake up the next day, it absorbs all the alcohol in you system, you can get the tablets from your local Chemist just ask. Good Luck.

and the answer is......water. Drink it before going to bed and when getting up in the night to pee as one lister recommended. The reason for the headache is dehydration. Your brain is 90 percent water. When you dehydrate the brain shrinks causing the headache.
