You have to be of legal age to elope. If you're not, then you must elope with your parents.

It all depends on the state. If you are under 18, most states require a family signature. But as somebody who had a teen mom and then was married and pregnant with my first kid by 23, I would suggest you wait. Seriously. I loved my husband and we had a pretty good life, but after the divorce I really thought maybe I wasn't so prepared. I am still young enough to do it again, but I really would have waited. I know that in your late teens you think you are an adult and really know what you want, but my suggestion would to be to go to school or move to another state and see what's out there. It is a really big world, and if you and your significant other are in love it will happen no matter where you go. Good luck!

i would not worry approximately your father. He has his life and curiously he has carried out with it what he needs. To be a under the impression of alcohol. permit dozing canine lie. there isn't something incorrect with eloping. My husband and that i did it 9 years in the past. I waited 40 two years to discover him and he grow to be incredibly genuinely worth the wait. for sure we purely had a three month relationship technique. long distance, we met on the internet. Eloping is a heck of plenty greater low fee. We did that in the time of November and then in would here twelve months, we had a reception for close associates and kinfolk. Later as quickly as we entered into the Catholic church on the Easter vigil our marriage grow to be blessed by potential of the priest. So all of it worked out properly. i'd say decide for it. it is your marriage do what you prefer! solid success!

"Elope" just means that you sneak away with your fiance(e) and get married by yourselves instead of having a big wedding with all your family and friends.

There are no legal consequences, because it's just a marriage like any other in the eyes of the law. But there can be major social consequences, like your friends and family being pissed off at you!

States have different requirements for marriage. In most states if you are 18 you can get married. You may need parental permission for the underaged person.

Check with your county clerk's office to find the rules in your state.
