A Canon digital camera?

Film SLR: Nikon N80 with a Nikkor AF 28-105mm f/3.5-5.6D lens (or the 35-105mm f/3.5-5.6D-macro lens). Need more information on this camera and lens, send me an email and I'll respond.

DSLR: Nikon D70S with the kit lens.

Get a used camera and learn the fundamentals before you start to spend serious money (and by then you'll know what you want and need).

Check with www.keh.com and keep checking everyday until you see what you want but be ready to buy immediately; their cameras and lenses do NOT last long on their shelves. Their prices are VERY competitive, their ratings very conservative and the personnel are courteous, helpful and very knowledgeable.

I'm a Nikon fan through and through, but Canon is it's equal.

For Nikon, I currently shoot a D70s, a very nice digital SLR. There is also a D50, kind of like a little brother to the D70s that is also excellent, especially if you are just a hobbiest.
