You should tell him nothing and be glad that you and he never got married. If you are prone to slapping him that means that you don't love him. You just want someone to control. Slapping another person, boyfriend or not is assault and can get you landed in jail. Get some anger management before you actually hurt someone.

Slapping your significant other could be a crime, partner or family member assault, so be careful about hitting in the future.
Men usually don't stay mad for long or hold grudges.
Tell him you made a mistake, you're sorry, and that it will never happen again. After that, use your imagination.

If he is that embarassed to be seen with you then you don't need him you can do better than him. I had a boyfriend who did that and I put him out of my life because a real man will treat you good and would be proud to be seen with you in public and private.

you should never have disrespected him like that, specially in public. Its wrong to lose your temper and stike someone you care about. Leave that for someone you hate, or dont want to ever talk to agian! give him some time, but be sure to apologize and not to ever do that again. Dont be surprised if he doesnt want to talk to you anymore though. You cant blame him. Would you talk to him if he slapped you in public?

You have to learn to deal with your temper and communicate in a healthy way. Hitting is NOT okay . . not for a man or a woman.
Get some counseling.
Then maybe you'll be ready for a relationship.
In the meantime, tell him your sorry, and that your going to get counseling on your temper.

Sorry that I made a scene. I embarrassed myself, and more importantly you. I should never resort to violence in public and in private. I won't do it again.
...and then don't ever do it again. Slapping is childish.

Go apologize and tell him that you'll never do it again. You should NEVER strike your boyfriend and he should never strike you. Also, you should support your boyfriend and life him up as a person, ESPECIALLY in front of others.
You did serious damage to his self-esteem. You humiliated him in public. Any guy would be terribly upset.
Just try to build him up, not tear him down, ESPECIALLY in front of others.

YOU SHOULD NEVER GET TO THE POINT WHERE YOU BEGIN TO MAKE YOURSELF LOOK STUPID IN PUBLIC. IT MAKES YOU LOOK IMMATURE AND I THINK THAT YOU SHOULD LEARN TO HANDLE THINGS IN A MORE LADY-LIKE MANNER. WAIT TILL YOU GET HOME AND THEN TALK ABOUT IT...BUT I WOULDN'T DARE JUST LET HIM DISRESPECT ME IN PUBLIC, NOT BY ALL MEANS...I'M JUST SAYING DON'T SLAP HIM, BECAUSE IF HE HAPPENS TO HIT YOU BACK FROM HIS REFLEXES, THEN...WELL, YOU DO THE MATH...GOOD LUCK!
