I found a bottle of chinese medicine powder in our freezer with a little note there written June 1991. My dad stored some Australian abalones, shark's fin (total around 5 kg) in the freezer in our second house for more than 10 years (1993/ 1994). My mom suggested him to fix shark's fin soup this winter.

Don't know about the freezer, but I have a jar of relish in my refrigerator for 1994. I don't intend to ever eat it, but I just keep it around now for old time's sake. That jar and I have been through a lot together.

We have some Bear meat & some elk steaks. The Bear meat is over two years old & NO we will NOT eat it, that's why it is still there. It was gift, but none of us could bring ourselves to eat it. And I won't cook it.
The elk steaks, another gift are about a year old & OH YEA!!! They will be savored!!!! Every single bite!!!!

IN 1983 I ATE A FEW CASES OF C-RATIONS I FOUND IN THE SHED OF THE HOUSE I MOVED INTO. THEY WERE DATED 1967. THEY WERE STILL EDIBLE, BUT I FED A LOT OF THEM TO MY DOG. I SMOKED THE OLD, STALE PALL MALLS THAT WERE IN THEM TOO.
